CONFERENCE OF PRESIDING OFFICERS’ AND SECRETARIES
OF
LEGISLATIVE BODIES IN INDIA.
The 78th All India Speakers Conference which begun on Thursday,21st January 2016 was
attended by the Hon’ble Speaker-Shri K.N. Rai, Hon’ble Deputy Speaker Shri-Sonam Gyatso
Lepcha, Secretary-Shri L.M. Pradhan and the Officials from Sikkim Legislative Assembly . The
Conference saw the participation of 22 State Legislative Assemblies and 6 Legislative Councils
and will have a detailed discussion on improving the attendance of MPS and MLAS in the
Legislature. The Hon’ble Speakers will also be working out on a plan to improve the quality of
questions and debates, and the need to ensure minimum 60 days sittings of the house in a year
in State Legislature.
