What is the Supplier Package?
The Daimler NX Supplier Package is a software installation provided by Daimler AG that allows external
Daimler/DTNA engineering partners to work in an environment that is similar. This allows for consistent and
reliable modeling to improve design collaboration. Typically the data is released in Daimlers PDM system
(Engineering Client/Smaragd).
DTNA has moved to using Siemens NX as their preferred CAD system. We encourage our suppliers to follow in
this path. Our environment has been integrated within the Daimler NX Supplier Package. Our CATIA V5 Supplier
package is now end of life and no longer available.
Data is sent between DTNA and the engineering partner via Swan only. Email is considered a security violation.

Who should use it?
The Supplier Package is targeted for externally based Engineering Partners and suppliers
doing design work for Daimler on data that will be Daimler/DTNA controlled.
Yes, you need the Supplier package
• Work with Engineering designing and/or
modifying DTNA controlled parts and sub
assemblies for release in Smaragd/EC.

No, you do not need the Supplier Package
• Provide NX based data to DTNA for their
space claim in design and the data is
controlled/designed by supplier (aka
Vendor parts)
• Manufacture parts for DTNA with provided
data and use said data as reference for
machining and Quality Assurance.
• External Supplier that has a user working
in-house within DTNA or similar site.
• Internal Daimler User.

How do they get it?
DTNA has to validate that the supplier truly needs the system before providing it. The
supplier can request the package on the DTNA Supplier Page located at
https://swan-dtna.i.daimler-trucksnorthamerica.com/dtna/supplier.html
This will start a process of validation process. Typically, they only need to provide a
Daimler contact they are working with. This process can take several days depending on
availability of each party involved.

Does this package differ to the Daimler AG Package?
This is the same package that is provided by the Germany Engineering Services
group/Covisint. DTNA’s ASME based environment has been fully integrated and requires
no configuration adjustments. It is possible to switch between DTNA and other Daimler
environments with a simple configuration change via batch file. This is covered in the
installation documentation provided upon software delivery.
What about Supplier Package Support?
It is expected that the supplier have a CAD knowledgeable person/Administrator install
the Supplier Package as it requires integration to their CAD license server. The Supplier
Package is provided "AS IS". DTNA can not provide support for your CAD system,
Licensing, etc.
DTNA support is very limited due to the complexity with your systems. DTNA limited
support can be requested via [email protected].

NX Supplier Package System Requirements
Operating System
NET Framework 4.5
Only Windows 7 64 bit are supported by the NX supplier
package.
As a condition for the configuration and start applications .NET
Framework 4.5 must be installed locally. Download Link:

NX 10.0.2.6 (NX 10.0.2.6 MP1 D1, 27Aug15) is the Siemens
NX version which is the basis for this package.
ActivePerl 5.20.2 (64Bit)
As a condition for the use of the Masterdata tool, Perl must be
installed locally. Here is a link with information and/or

Fonts
As a condition for several add-ons’ the font “Arial Unicode MS”
must be installed.
HQM (Heidelberg Quality Manager) license (optional)
