held for 10 days during which time we ask you to visit the centre, confirm your booking
and pay in full.

All parties are booked at the discretion of the Manager.
Alterations to prices and times can be made without prior notice.
Refunds will not be issued for cancelled parties.
Our staff do not supervise the party room. Therefore parental supervision of all children is
required in the party room and for toilet breaks during the activities.
Parents should be aware that some parties carry an element of risk. Hertsmere Leisure is
committed to the health and safety of all its customers and endeavours that any such risk
is kept to a minimum.
Parents must adhere to parental supervision ratios for Soft Play and Pool Parties.
Party staff must be made aware by the party hirer of any medical conditions suffered by
children within the group.
Minimum and maximum age restrictions may apply. Please contact the centre of your
choice for more information.
Hertsmere Leisure does not allow photos to be taken without prior written consent from
the Duty Manager.
Access to the tea room starts 30 minutes (or 15 minutes if at The Centre, or 10 minutes if at
Sir James Altham) before the children are due to finish the party activity, to allow time for
you to set up.
No alcohol or electrical items are to be brought onto the premises under any circumstances.
All children under 8 years require adult supervision for the duration of the party.
Pool Parties:
• During all swimming parties children under the age of 8 years must be accompanied by
either a person aged at least 19 years, or the parent / legal guardian.
• This person may supervise a maximum of two under 8s in main pools, or three under 8s
in teaching pools less than 1m deep.
• This person must directly supervise under 8s (i.e. be within reach) at all times.
• During pool parties a minimum ratio of 1 adult to 10 children should be maintained
irrespective of the age of the children.
• Supervising adults must accompany children in the water and maintain close contact at
all times.
• Failure to provide adequate supervision will result in the Party not proceeding and no
refund will be given.
• Non swimmers should have buoyancy aids.

Parties at SJA include free use of a Party Room for your food

All party activities can be followed by the use of an indoor room for party food.
• 1 hour activity time (55 mins for pool parties).
Aqua 8+ parties require ALL children to be aged 8 and over. For Aqua 8+ Inflatable parties all children will also need to pass a swim competency test of 25m before they
will be able to use the large inflatable. If anyone in the party is under 8 or is not able to pass the swim competency test they will only be allowed to use part of the inflatable
(at Sir James Altham Pool) or the party can be changed to an Aqua 8+ Floats party.
