How to Use Scotch® Magic Tape for Crafts A plain metal tin with a lid and a handle is decorated to make a pretty container for organizing loose items. Scotch® Magic Tape is used to add a child’s name label to the front of the container and a label is also added to the bottom of the tin for listing the contents. 1 Difficulty – Easy Materials • • • • • • • • • • • White metal bucket with lid and handle 1/2 inch-wide green satin ribbon 1 inch-wide pink flowered ribbon 3/4 inch-wide pink grosgrain ribbon with green stitches on the edges Pink and green paper flowers (2 large, 2 medium and 2 small) Pink and green rhinestones (2 large, 2 medium and 2 small) Scotch® Magic Tape (for making labels) Scotch® Double-Stick Tape (for attaching ribbon) Scotch® Quick-Dry Adhesive (for gluing flowers) Scotch® Ultra-Edge Non-Stick Precision Scissors (for cutting ribbon) Scotch® Clear Glue with 2-Way Applicator (for attaching ribbon) Instructions 1. Apply Scotch® Double-Stick Tape to the top and the bottom edge of the container. 2. Using Scotch® Ultra-Edge Non-Stick Precision Scissors, cut a piece of both the pink flower and the green ribbon the length to wrap around the entire tin plus 1 inch for overlap. 3. Attach strips of Scotch® Double-Stick Tape around the top and bottom edge of the tin. Attach the ribbon to the top and bottom edge of the tin starting at the metal seam. 4. Fold the end of the ribbon under to make a nice finished edge. Using the precision tip, apply a small amount of Scotch® Clear Glue to the end of each of the folded edges of the ribbons to secure it to the tin. 2 5. Using Scotch® Quick-Dry Adhesive, apply glue to the back of the two large flowers and attach them slightly overlapping to the center of the top of the lid. 6. Glue a large matching rhinestone onto the center of each flower. 7. Using Scotch® Quick-Dry Adhesive, attach the two medium and two small flowers to the front of the tin in the configuration shown below. 8. Glue a matching rhinestone onto the center of each flower. 3 9. Tie the pink grosgrain ribbon to the handle where it meets with the tin, leaving a 2 inch tail. 10. Wrap the ribbon around the handle and tie the end on other side of the handle where it meets with the tin, leaving a 2 inch tail. 11. Trim the tails to matching lengths, cutting them into a V shape using Scotch® Ultra-Edge Non-Stick Precision Scissors. 12. Using the precision tip of Scotch® Clear Glue, apply a small amount of glue to the end of each of the cut edge of the tails to prevent fraying. 4 13. Attach a piece of Scotch® Magic Tape to the bottom of the tin and write the contents in a black indelible marker. 14. Attach a piece of Scotch® Magic Tape to the center front of the tin between the flowers and write your child’s name in a black indelible marker. 5
