New Item: Oroblanco Grapefruits
Oroblanco is a cross between a white grapefruit and a pummelo. One of the nicest things
about Oroblanco is there is no bitterness. Yes! A grapefruit that is not bitter. Because of its
lack of acidity, it makes it far sweeter than other varieties. Oroblanco has a thicker easy-topeel skin, and its flesh is tender, juicy, seedless and sweet with a large hollow core.
Available now in 23-count or 32-count case. Sold by the case only.
Showers and strong winds are expected in California over the weekend and into early week.
Above average temperatures look to continue in Mexico, providing dry conditions throughout the week.

shipped from Nogales, mostly larger sizes are available in limited
volume. Some lots showing internal discoloration.
AVOCADO - Overall demand leading up to the Super Bowl will
likely be higher than available supply.
BELL PEPPERS - Excellent quality, condition and supply.
Supply exceeds demand keeping market on Green Bells low and very
reasonable. Good quality and condition on colored bells.
BERRIES-
Blackberry: Central Mexico is the main production
region for the winter months and is beginning their seasonal decline.
Weather has also slowed production over recent weeks. Blueberry:
Mexican production is expected to remain fairly steady for the next
several weeks. Quality has been good. Raspberries: Raspberry
production has slowed down and supply has begun to decrease from
Mexico and Southern California. We are about 3-4 weeks out before
we see the new crop to come back with better volumes. Strawberries:
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and fresh strawberries will be
in high demand over the next 2 weeks. Availability remains limited out
of California but is showing a considerable improvement from recent
weeks.
GRAPES - Green & Red grape: Green grape supplies have been
consistent on both coasts. Quality is being reported as very good.
Market prices did come down slightly on all sizes. Red grapes continue
to be plentiful. There is excellent supplies of all sizes on both coasts.
Quality is very good and markets have stabilized.
KALE - The rains in Oxnard / Santa Maria have put a halt in
harvesting enough supplies to meet demand. Quality is still excellent

Cold weather and rain has hurt the crop on leaf items in Southern
California. Possible rain is forecasted by the end of the week.

twisting, mechanical damage and pink ribbing. These defects are
industry wide. Expect this market to get stronger throughout the week.

MELONS -

production after last weeks rain delays. The Ventura crop has just
began some limited harvest of their crop. Over all supplies look good,
with the smaller sizes being limited. Limes: The lime market is higher

harvest down again.
