It has been a fun month in music class! All grades had fun singing Halloween songs recently. With

We have been exploring our
bcreek.k12.mi.us
voices and using them in four
different ways: speaking, singing,
whispering, and calling. We
spend a lot of time working on
our singing voice. We work on
singing in tune and exploring our
high and low voice. We are also
learning about quarter notes,
eighth notes, and rests, and have
been clapping rhythms together.
We enjoy playing walk/jog/freeze
as we listen to the beats. We
recently learned about the
composer, J.S Bach.
Second Grade
We have been learning to read
musical notation with quarter
notes, eighth notes and rests. We
have been learning about the
music staff and singing with
solfege (do re mi fa so la ti do).
We also learned about the
composer, J.S. Bach.
Third Grade
We have been learning about tone
color in voices and instruments.
We can use our heavy and light
vocal registers. We also learned
about the composer, J.S. Bach,
and listened to some of his music.
Fourth Grade
We are learning about time
signatures, bar lines, and
measures as we develop our
music reading skills. We are also
exploring our heavy and light
vocal registers while singing a
variety of songs.
Fifth Grade
We are also learning about time
signatures, steady beat and
rhythm. We are working on our
music reading skills and singing
with pitch letter names (A-G) and
solfege (do re mi fa so la ti do).

familiar logos and why
businesses use them.
Students are currently
working on personal logos
that represent them. Next up,
4th grade will begin projects
on texture and 5th grade will
learn more about perspective
in art.
