Integrators Model 320 Independent Computer Interface Introduction Features & Benefits Broadcasts computer-generated data to all link devices every 1/2 second Captures real-time process data and configuration information Allows custom data acquisition/data generation applications to be implemented Local lockout switches limit computer-generated changes Prevents computer from disrupting link operation Provides full error checking and data security 2 Flexible data communications interface accommodates various communication options, including RS232C, RS422, or modem operation Convenient data and power connections support standard panelboard mounting Description The 320 Independent Computer Interface (ICI) is a versatile, microprocessor-based communication controller that allows a computer to communicate and share data with any device on the Local Instrument Link (LIL). Process and configuration data can be requested from the LIL global database or a LIL device, or sent directly from the computer to the device or database. The Model 320 controls all data communications, performs error checking, transfers the data between the LIL and computer, and acknowledges commands sent by the computer. Because the Model 320 provides access to LIL data and flexible communication with a computer, programs can access information that fulfills specific needs and capabilities. Once installed and connected to a computer and the LIL, the Model 320 requires no further operator intervention or special procedures for communication with the computer. Using the Model 320 with an independent computer on the LIL allows it to be used in a wide variety of applications, such as: Process monitoring and recording Real-time and historical reporting Loop accounting Information management Supervisory control Configuration control and management 2.33 Integrators Model 320 Independent Computer Interface Technical data Hardware Specifications Software Specifications Components Commands MPU Board Serial Port Communication Board Local Instrument Link Communications Board ICI Status Local Channel Data Send Parameter Data Send Multi-Byte Parameter Data Request Perform Diagnostics Random Channel Data Request Random Parameter Data Request Read LIL Command Input Buffer Record Request Read Record Request Buffer Record Send Response to Received Random Parameter Data Request Response to Received Multi-Byte Parameter Data Request Sequential Channel Data Request Set Communication Watchdog Timer Set ICI Local Channel Amount Power Supply 120/240 Vac (85 to 264 Vac), 47 to 63 Hz (std.)
