RECEIVE AWARDS
Twelve University of Montana journalism majors are recipients of special
scholarships and awards worth nearly $2,000 this year at Missoula.
Dwight Sargent, curator of the Nieman Foundation was the guest speaker for the
11th Dean Stone night.
Journalism awards went to Mrs. Anita C. Wilford, a junior from Havre, the Olaf
J. Bue Memorial Award of $25;
Richard K. Foote, junior from Butte, the Robert Struckman Memorial Award of $100;
Louise Fenner, freshman from Missoula, the Dean Stone award of $100;
Janet R. Maurer, sophomore from Power, the Great Falls Press Club award of $200;
Bennett R. Hansen, junior from Helena,
the Minneapolis Tribune Award of $400;
Judith M. Broeder, junior from Kalispell, the Lee Newspapers of Montana Award
of $300;
Margaret A. Lavold, junior from Big Timber, the Guy Mooney Award of $250;
Joseph W. Ward, senior from Darby, the Sigma Delta Chi citation for the out­
standing male graduate;

Mark M. Miller, senior from Silver Star, the Montana Stockgrowers Association
award;
Mary L. Nicol, from Missoula, the Sigma Delta Chi plaque for Kaimin service;
Theresa M. MacMillan, junior from Kent, Wash., the Melvin and Myrtle Lord award
of $300.

cable television ETV award of $150.
