Summary of Secretariat Resolutions
Minutes from the July 3, 2012 meeting were reviewed and approved.
Camper-trailers are not allowed on Tres Dias weekends (for either team members
or candidates) unless the requesting individual can demonstrate a medical need
that cannot otherwise be accommodated. Only the Secretariat can approve use of
trailers.
3. The Secretariat moved to amend the by-laws to allow prior rector/rectoras to serve
as vice-president of the Secretariat. The by-laws will have to be amended in order
for the change to actually take effect.

Reports From Officers and Committees
Officer Reports
Communications Report: Heidi reported that the August newsletter went out. Heidi asked
Michael to do a write-up regarding the treasurer position for inclusion in the next newsletter.
Heidi did not get a chance to get word out to community regarding a place to store the trailer.
Treasurer Report: Michael reported that the Glacier Bank checking account had a balance
of $11,458.24. Approximately $685 should be deducted for outstanding/uncleared checks.
Michael clarified that this amount included a check in the amount of approximately $2,000
from closing the WFCU account which was deposited into the Glacier account. There was some
discussion about whether “ear-marking” a “donation” for a specific individual was allowed. It
was suggested that regulations governing charitable organizations forbids that practice. Any
such checks should be returned. Michael noted that about $2,200 had been received from
team applications. It was also noted that the rector and rectora are responsible for ensuring
that team leaders do not exceed their budgets. The PayPal account is at $164.74. Michael
needs additional information in order to make adjustments to that account.
Men’s Leader Report: Sandy reported that things are going well.
Women’s Leader Report: Gloria reported that things are going well.
Fourth Day Report: Sue reported that the 3rd Annual Tres Dias Summer-Fest will be August 19,
2012 at 2 pm at Aletheia Church.
Committee Reports
Pre-Weekend Committee: Rob Neater appreciated the opportunity to write an article for the
Newsletter. Writing the article helped him to focus/understand the role of the committee.
Several members of the Secretariat indicated that the article was very well done and thanked
Rob for taking the time to write it.
Old Business
1.
Google Documents - The Secretariat agreed that using Google Docs as a platform to
store and access documents was appropriate for Tres Dias Montana.

Outside Audit - Heidi will see if a CPA in community can help us with conducting an
outside audit.
3. Repentance - Sandy relayed a conversation with a pescadore who indicated that he
didn’t hear a clear message of repentance. This person was concerned by what he
perceived to be a lack of focus on repentance and, for that reason, did not participate as
a team member. Do we need to focus more on repentance? Much discussion ensued
about whether a change was needed, and if so, what should be done. Ultimately it was
decided that the rector or rectora could place additional focus on repentance during
the Examination of Conscience, Stations of the Cross, Burning of the Burdens and the
Healing Service, but this would not be a requirement.

Mens’ Weekend - Dave reported that things are going smoothly. He did note that it
would be helpful to have a couple more people on service. Dave stated that he needs
a list of candidates that didn’t go through. Heidi will attempt to contact him with this
information.
Women’s Weekend - Brenda reported that Pastor Larry had to step down from his
position as Spiritual Director due to a scheduling conflict, but noted that Pastor Lloyd
Pearson has agreed to take his place. Brenda stated that two ladies asked if they could
bring a camper-trailer. Ed mentioned that having a trailer may be appropriate for health
issues, but otherwise, why do it? Several members commented that the trailers detract
from fellowship. After much discussion, Nick made a motion that no trailers be allowed
unless there is a compelling medical need that cannot be accommodated on campus.
Sandy seconded the motion. After discussion, the motion was successfully amended to
indicated that only the Secretariat could approve a request for trailer. Any such request
should be handled in confidence via email between the President and the rector or
rectora. The amended motion was again seconded by Sandy and passed unanimously.
Spring weekend - Heidi indicated that the camp has been reserved for April 11-14, 2013
for the men’s weekend, and April 18-21 for the womens’ weekend. The camp indicated
that we can drop the deposit off anytime.
Qualifications for vice-president/president - a question was raised regarding whether
bible scripture or Tres Dias policy would prevent females from serving as vice-president
or the president of the Secretariat. Ed noted that there was no such restriction for
International Tres Dias, and the type of service required was more administrative in
nature, in any event. There are no gender restrictions regarding any of the positions on
the Secretariat.
Motion to change by-laws: Sandy moved to expand the pool of individuals qualified to
be the vice-president to include anyone who has been a rector/rectoras during the past
12 month. Gloria seconded the motion. After discussion, the motion was amended to
remove the 12 month restriction. The motion passed unanimously, as amended.
Communications position - Sandy nominated Heidi to serve a second term as a member
of the Secretariat in the Communications position. Heidi is eligible to serve a second

term because she did not previously serve for a full two-year term. Michael seconded
the motion, which was unanimously accepted.
7. mailboxes - the Secretariat authorized Michael to reimburse Sandy for 24 mail-boxes
the he purchased for the purpose of helping to organize palanca. Sandy paid $7 for the
boxes.
8. Trailer Inventory - Sandy did a “quick” inventory of items in the trailer and prepared an
inventory list. Sandy could not find a prior inventory list.
9. Flathead Ekklesia - Rob Neater announced a new fellowship, Flathead Ekklesia. The
pastor will be Larry Lautaret. Rob wanted to make clear that the new fellowship did not
want to be viewed as the “Tres Dias” church. Are looking for people who do not know
Jesus Christ or who do not have a close fellowship in a particular church. Members
thanked Rob for the update and uniformly expressed excitement and encouragement at
the prospect of Pastor Larry starting a new fellowship.
Next Secuela: Tres Dias Summer-Fest on August 19, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at Aletheia Church.
Next Meeting: September 4, 2012, 6:30 p.m. at Ed Croyman’s residence.

The meeting was closed in prayer and adjourned at 9:41 p.m.
