Sustainability Committee Final Report Date: July 2, 2013 Met 7 times during the fall and spring semesters. Committee’s efforts focused most on developing sustainability goals and benchmarks for CSU’s strategic plan. Integrating sustainability goals into the strategic plan was a watershed achievement for this committee because these goals will now serve as the blue print for advancing sustainability initiatives Topic Considered Action or Recommendation 1) Discussed University Avenue 1) Presentations were delivered to Road Diet proposal by Pat McHenry Faculty Senate and Representatives of the Columbus Consolidated Government 2) Awarded Pat McHenry and Ed Schevey Clean Air Campaign awards for preventing 25,000 lbs of 2) Assisted in the planning and air pollution by using alternative implementation of the OneCSU commutes campaign (Year 3) 3) Implementation of the OneCSU (Creating a Sustainable yoU) 3) Developed 7 strategic goals and several associated benchmarks. campaign Met with Strategic Planning Committee to integrate committee recommendations into the 4) Proposed sustainability goals and benchmarks for CSU’s strategic strategic plan plan 4) Met with AFLAC and Turner College of Business faculty and 5) Considered a proposal from developed a plan to create a new AFLAC to develop an integrated class to achieve the sustainability Sustainability course that would learning objectives have students assist local businesses with improving their sustainability Recommendation(s) for consideration by the Academic Administrative Council: Recorder: Troy Keller (Chair)
