 Community nights are held monthly and are heaps of fun
 Make sure you are added
to the Raymont 2017
Facebook Group to keep
up with College events
 20c pieces are like gold
(the dryer takes 6x20c
pieces in Alcorn and $1
and 20c for Primmer)
 Your RA’s are not your parents – do your washing up and keep
the fridge and common areas tidy
 RES events are held monthly and
are fantastic
 RES meeting are held fortnightly
and are a great way to keep up to
date with what is happening and have
some input with college events
 Our Chaplains are here on Tuesday nights for a chat, fun
activities during dinner and if you are interested, conversations
about faith. Make sure you read Julie’s joke section of the
Chaplain chat!

How to get around
Brisbane?
Translink is a division of the Department of Transport and Main Roads that is responsible for
buses, trains and ferries across South East Queensland. Public transport is the easiest and
cheapest way to get to most places around Brisbane.
By purchasing a gocard (an electronic ticket), you can easily jump
on and off public transport and load money onto your card.
What you need to do?
 Purchase a gocard (You will get a chance to do this on 17th February
2017 when RA’s and SRA’s take new students on the Uni Rally)
 Register online as a student with your university ID card to get
concession fares
 You can easily load money to your card online and even set up
automatic top up when your card gets low on money
 Plan your journeys using Journey Planner to find out when the next bus,
train or ferry will arrive and how long it will take you to reach your
destination
 Remember to tap on before getting on and tap off before getting off
public transport
Check out translink.com.au and have a look at Journey Planner

A guide to Local Places of Worship
It is noted that students from different backgrounds and cultures are part of our community
at Raymont and we encourage, respect and understand each other’s spiritual beliefs and
world view.
The following page details a number of religious and spiritual communities that are
reasonably close to Raymont Residential College. This is not an extensive list and further
information can be sought from the Chaplains or other students who have previously been
at Raymont.
As an activity of the Uniting Church, Raymont has two Christian Chaplains as part of the
team. The Chaplains are available to speak with and support residents regardless of their
religious affiliation.
There are some opportunities offered at Raymont to learn more about the Christian faith
and gather with people who are wanting to understand more about God. Don’t hesitate to
talk to the chaplains or one of the SRA’s for more information.
