Rocky Mountain Pipeline Project Update
Summer
2014
Suncor Energy is seeking to increase the efficiency and reliability of the
existing feedstock supply to its Commerce City refinery, Colorado’s only
refinery. As part of its Rocky Mountain Pipeline Project, Suncor will construct
a 16-inch diameter underground pipeline from Cheyenne, WY to Commerce
City, CO. The new pipeline will help ensure consistent and reliable operations
for Suncor’s Commerce City refinery and long-term supplies of quality fuels
essential to the citizens and businesses in all of Colorado.

At Suncor, safety is our core value. Suncor is working closely with the various
local governments and all relevant agencies to ensure the safety of the
community and the environment. Detour signs and flaggers will redirect
traffic, where required, away from work areas. The community’s patience and
adherence to all construction signs and closures is appreciated.
Fox Run Open Space and Residents of Fox Run
Pipeline construction will occur in the Fox Run Open Space this summer
starting in July. To ensure public safety, pedestrian access to some trails will be
temporarily restricted when certain construction activities occur, such as when
major equipment is being moved. Other sections of trail will remain open.
Construction vehicles will use some trails. However, the general public may
not drive on the trails. The main construction site on the southwest side of the
open space will be closed to the public until work is completed. Construction
fencing and signs will notify visitors of access restrictions. Suncor is working
closely with the City of Northglenn regarding work at Fox Run. Suncor is also
pleased to provide additional community investment funding that will enable
upgrades to the drainage system and other infrastructure within the open
space.
