As part of its Rocky Mountain Pipeline Project, Suncor will construct a 16-inch diameter underground pipeline from Cheyenne, WY to Commerce City, CO. The new pipeline will help ensure consistent and reliable operations for Suncor’s Commerce City refinery and long-term supplies of quality fuels essential to the citizens and businesses in all of Colorado. Pipeline Company will begin construction of the Rocky Mountain Pipeline Project this summer. Construction is scheduled to begin in July 2014 and will continue through December 2014. Construction activities and schedule are weather dependent. Suncor is working closely with the various local governments and all relevant agencies to ensure the safety of the community and the environment. Detour signs and flaggers will redirect traffic, where required, away from work areas. The community’s patience and adherence to all construction signs and closures is appreciated. Fox Run Open Space and Residents of Fox Run Pipeline construction will occur in the Fox Run Open Space this summer starting in July. To ensure public safety, pedestrian access to some trails will be temporarily restricted when certain construction activities occur, such as when major equipment is being moved. Other sections of trail will remain open. Construction vehicles will use some trails. However, the general public may not drive on the trails. The main construction site on the southwest side of the open space will be closed to the public until work is completed. Construction fencing and signs will notify visitors of access restrictions. Suncor is working closely with the City of Northglenn regarding work at Fox Run. Suncor is also pleased to provide additional community investment funding that will enable upgrades to the drainage system and other infrastructure within the open space.
