Inquiry Topics
In your groups, research your assigned topic and create a Wikispace.Your classmates will use
your Wikispace to learn about your assigned topic and complete a webquest.
Table #1 - Henrik Ibsen
Your Wikispace should include:
• A picture of Ibsen.
• A little information about his upbringing and education.
• Three phases of Ibsen’s dramatic works.
• Why he is considered the pioneer of modern drama.
• Two literary elements he is known to excel in and the major theme of
most of his plays.
• Why his works were considered scandalous.
Table #2 - Norway
Your Wikispace should include:
• The continent Norway is a part of.
• The three countries nearest Norway.
• Why nearly the entire country is green in color.
• Norway’s climate.
• Norway’s form of government and economy.
• Information on the traditional culture.

Your Wikispace should include:
• Was it built around a romantic bond, or was it an economic institution?
• Expectations and responsibilities of men and women.
• Were there publications with instructions on how to be a good wife?

Your Wikispace should include:
• Definition, birth, and characteristics of of “Theatrical Realism”.
• Nineteenth century social, economic, and political influences that may
have led to the birth of Theatrical Realism/Modern Theater.
• Theatrical elements of Theatrical Realism.
• Titles of and photos from plays that are considered Realist.
• Analysis and explanations as to whether Theatrical Realism has any
relationship/similarities to Realism in other art forms. (If so, provide
pictures and/or textual evidence that exhibits and explains these
qualities.)
All Groups’ Wikispaces Should Include:

who contributed to that section (whether through research, writing/paraphrasing, or designing).

Group Roles:
1. Project Manager and Webquest Worksheet Composer: Responsible for ensuring all group members are
contributing equally to the group’s work. Project Manager should work to make sure all group members are
working productively and collaboratively. Assist other group members with their work as necessary. Create
the group’s webquest worksheet to be given to classmates, who will complete it Thursday, March 20th for
credit. Communicate any internal challenges or conflicts to the teacher in a timely manner.
2. Researcher(s): Responsible for researching and finding answers to the teacher-posed questions (as listed
above). Accurately share information and sources with Wikispace Design Manager and Webquest Worksheet
Composer. Responsible for initial creation of MLA works cited page.
3. Wikispace Design Manager: Responsible for the design of Wikispace and collaborating with Researcher(s)
on inputting accurately the researched information into the Wikispace in an organized manner. Responsible
for creating correct in-text citations during writing and design process.
4. Quality Control Person: Responsible for ensuring that all work is being completed accurately. You are the
second-set of eyes, ensuring that citations are correct, academic integrity standards have been adhered to,
Wikispace site looks organized and is up to teacher’s standards, webquest worksheet asks open-ended
questions that will require your classmates actually to reading through your group’s Wikispace and will teach
classmates in-depth information on assigned topic. Also responsible for assisting other group members while
working on the assignment as necessary.
Expectations:
- DUE: Thursday, March 20th at the BEGINNING of class.
- All students should contribute equally to the group’s work.
- All websites or other sources used to create the Wiki should be cited properly, both within the text of your site
AND on a separate works cited ‘page’. Group members should understand that ALL group members are
responsible for making sure the overall product of the group adheres to proper academic integrity standards.
- If complications or challenges arise within the group, the “Project Manager” will communicate this to the
teacher so she can assist in helping you build the skills necessary to work successfully through conflict.
Grading Rubric:
See Ms. Wiggins’ ECHS webpage. Also, know that the quality of your group’s Webquest worksheet will
contribute to your grade for Content, Organization, and Accuracy. **NOTE: You will want to get Ms. Wiggins
to “approve” your worksheet before it is published for class consumption! :)
