Beginning Jan. 15, 2012, Powerball jackpots will start at $40 million and continue to
climb until someone wins. That someone could be you! To play, just pick five numbers
from 1 to 59 (the white balls), then pick one more number from 1 to 35 (the red Powerball).
You win the jackpot if you match all five white balls plus the red “Powerball”. In addition
to the jackpot, Powerball has eight other ways to win set cash prize amounts.
The new Match 5 Power Play option offers increased set prize levels for players. If you
win a prize on your Powerball ticket, other than the jackpot, and you have purchased
Power Play on that ticket, you will receive a set prize amount based on the number of
matching white and red balls on your ticket (see Powerball Match 5 Power Play Option
chart at left). Match 5 winners who added Power Play for that drawing will automatically
win $2 million!

could multiply your regular prize up to $30,000!

Mega Millions®
What’s Your Dream?
Mega Millions is a multi-state lotto game where jackpots start at $12 million and keep
climbing until someone wins! There are big non-jackpot prizes, too—up to $250,000!—
and, if you add Megaplier® to your ticket, you could win up to $1 million!
To play, pick five numbers from 1 to 56 (the white balls) plus one more number—the
Mega Ball®—from 1 to 46. You win the jackpot if you match all five white balls plus the
Mega Ball. In addition to the jackpot, there are eight ways to win set cash prize amounts.
Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 10 p.m. To be eligible on
the nights of the drawings you must purchase your Mega Millions tickets before 9 p.m.
If you win the jackpot, you have 60 days after you claim your prize to determine how you
want to be paid. You can be paid in 26 equal annual payments OR in one lump-sum
cash payment. The cash payment is about half of the estimated annuitized jackpot amount.
How to Play Mega Millions
1.Get a Mega Millions play slip from any Minnesota State Lottery retailer and follow
the directions on the back. Or simply ask the clerk for a QUICK PICK and random
numbers will be picked for you.
2. Each play will cost you $1—unless you add “Megaplier®” or extra draws.
3.You can purchase up to 14 draws in advance. Remember, your cost increases for
each draw you add.
4.Mega Millions tickets cannot be canceled so please check your play slip carefully
before you hand it to the retailer.
5.Give your play slip to the Lottery retailer and receive a computer-printed ticket. The
ticket is the only valid receipt for claiming a prize. The play slip is not a valid receipt.
Multiply Your Win with Megaplier®!
At the time of purchase, for an extra $1 per play, you can add the Megaplier option for
the chance to multiply your prize (except the jackpot) by two, three or four times. Each
night of the drawing, a Megaplier number is randomly selected. If you win a prize on
your Mega Millions ticket (except the jackpot), and have purchased the Megaplier option,
you receive the regular prize amount MULTIPLIED by the Megaplier number that was
selected. For example, if you win $10 on Mega Millions and have added Megaplier to
that ticket, and the Megaplier number is “3”—your prize climbs to $30 ($10 x 3 = $30).
Match 5 winners who purchase Megaplier when “4” is selected as the Megaplier number
will win $1 million!
NOTE: You must add Megaplier at the time you purchase your Mega Millions tickets. Ask
the clerk to add it or indicate Megaplier on your play slip. Each time you add an additional
draw or an additional play that includes Megaplier, it will cost you an additional $1 per play
and per draw — and will double the cost for that Mega Millions ticket.
How to Claim Lottery Prizes
Sign the back of your ticket in the space provided before redeeming. Collect prizes of
$599.99 or less at your Lottery retailer, provided funds are available. When redeeming at a
retailer, be sure to get your receipt along with your winnings. Prizes of $600 to $30,000 can be
paid at any Lottery office or by mail. Claims made by mail must be sent to: Minnesota State
Lottery, P.O. Box 131000, Roseville, MN 55113. Winners over $30,000 must claim their
prizes in person at Lottery Headquarters, 2645 Long Lake Road, Roseville, MN. Claims for
prizes of $600 or more must include a completed claim form in addition to your signed ticket.
NOTE: Claim forms are available at www.mnlottery.com or at any Lottery office. If more than one person is sharing a prize from a single
ticket, this must be indicated on the ticket claim form at the time it is presented at the Lottery office. Each person who is claiming a
prize must fill out a separate claim form, and may be required to sign a prize sharing agreement, which specifies how the prize will be
shared, before the Lottery will pay the prize. All prizes must be claimed within 365 days after the drawing day in which the prize was
won. Minnesota State Lottery tickets can only be claimed in Minnesota. All Print
N Play prizes must be claimed within 365 days after
the date printed on the ticket. If the last day to claim is a weekend or State of Minnesota holiday, a claim must be submitted by the
end of the next business day.
