2016 Choir Audition Information Dear Parents, Choir is an extracurricular singing club for 4th and 5th graders. The Ponderosa Choir will be starting this fall on Monday, September 26th at 8:00 a.m. at Ponderosa Elementary School in the music room. ​Choir will only run September­December this year. If your child is interested in choir this year, Mrs. Massey will be holding auditions on Thursday, September 22nd from 8:15­8:45 and Friday, September 23rd after school from 3:45­4:15 p.m. You can sign­up for audition times on Sign­Up Genius through the following link: ​www.SignUpGenius.com/go/10C094EADA729A4F85­choir Rehearsals are ​scheduled to be on Monday mornings beginning at 8:00 a.m. and end at 8:30 a.m. in the music room. At 8:30, students will be released to the playground with their classmates or to the cafeteria for breakfast. NO STUDENTS will be allowed into the building to visit teachers or other staff without a note from that staff member­­NO EXCEPTIONS. ​Students should not arrive at school before 7:50 a.m. Busses will not be running this early in the morning, so students will either need to walk to school or be driven. Younger siblings will not be allowed to hang out in the music room while we are having rehearsal. Students interested in participating in choir this fall semester need to return the attached permission slip to Mrs. Massey at the time of your audition. The cost for choir is $25.00 per student as we are participating in a choir festival in December at LHS. Parents can either send in cash or a check made out to PES. It is important for choir students to attend all rehearsals unless they are sick. More than 2 unexcused absences may result in the student not being able to participate in the choir festival. The youth size t­shirts sit at the student's' waist. So, if your child likes a little more room in their t­shirts or they want it to hang longer, they should order an adult small (similar to a youth XL) or another adult size.
