Sketching Out Architectural Wonders
Look at the wonders of the world power point on my
website and match the pictures to the wonders listed
below. Select one or more of the architectural wonders
and sketch it out on a sheet of white paper. Write a
brief description of the architectural wonder next to
your sketch. (Include information about who built it,
when it was built, why it was built, how it was built, and
why it is considered an “architectural wonder”.
You can choose from the following:
Mesopotamia: Ziggurats/Tower of Babel, Hanging
Gardens of Babylon
China: The Great Wall, the Grand Canal, the Terra Cotta
Army
Egypt: The Great Pyramid, the Great Pharos Lighthouse
India: Mohenjo-Daro, Harappa, Indus Valley Plumbing
Select a modern architectural wonder. Sketch your
wonder, and write a paragraph explaining why you
consider it an architectural wonder, and whether you
think it will be considered one in 100 or even 1000 years.
