Purdue FCA had a group of 5 women and 4 men that traveled to
Bethesda Outreach at the end of May. At the orphanage we helped
set up, work, and tear down for the 5k and 10k run at the
orphanage, painted one of the family’s homes, hosted sports day
and chapel, were hosted for dinner two nights by 4 different
families, and played with the kids.
Off campus we got to see God’s unique and beautiful creation
throughout the Pilanesberg Game Reserve, visited Stinkwater
church, hosted a sports day at the Stinkwater church, and explored the surrounding
towns. Most importantly, it was amazing to see God's hand at work each day. The kids
have little compared to what we have in the US, but they are so joyful because their hope
is in the Lord. To me, that was such an encouragement. God is the one who fills us with
an everlasting joy because He is our hope. The joy He gives is so much richer than the
joy the world provides.
God also blessed the group in this time as we got to grow closer to each other and to
Him. Regardless of what trials we go through, God is our strength and our Light; nothing
else can fill that space. Our Father is always constant, our Rock, and will never leave us.
Because of that concrete hope, we are free to praise God through every single step of
our journey. I hope I can continue to share and spread the things God taught me in South
Africa here at Purdue through FCA.
We want to share A HUGE THANK YOU to all of our donors! Your donations not only
made this trip possible, but changed, grew, and impacted so many.
