2016 Data Factsheet: Donations and Volunteerism
To help to fulfill our company’s mission, Microsoft Philanthropies is committed to investing to advance a more inclusive and
equitable world. As part of its investments, the company donates and discounts world-class productivity, platform, and cloud
technology to empower nonprofits to achieve their missions with greater insight, efficiency, and agility.
In addition, Microsoft makes cash donations in the form of community investments primarily focused on making the benefits
of computer science education accessible to young people from underrepresented populations. And, through the Microsoft
Employee Giving program our employees generously donate their time, talent, and money to the nonprofit organizations of
their choice, with matching funds provided by the company.
