You are invited to attend a 2-day workshop of education
and inspiration learning about Pope John Paul II’s beautiful
teaching, Theology of the Body. This presentation will
show how the story of our Scriptures, the Liturgy of the
Mass and the story written into our own bodies all point to
the same purpose of BECOMING ONE. This is an opportunity to learn what Theology of the Body is, what it means
and how we can bless our families with this knowledge.
The presenter is, Father Rick Sherman, pastor of Saint
Elizabeth Parish in Richfield and surrounding missions.

“Do as I say and there will be peace.” These are the
words of our Blessed Mother to Sister Lucy of Fatima,
asking for the consecration of Russia to her Immaculate
Heart. The key for the fulfillment of her requests is the
praying of the Rosary, and therefore a Bi-lingual Rosary
Rally will take place in St. Joseph’s parking lot on Saturday, October 15, at 2:00 to fulfill Mary’s request that
Russia be consecrated to her Immaculate Heart and for
the Conversion of America.
Everyone is invited to participate.
TWENTY SEVENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
VIGESIMO SEPTIMO DOMINGO EN TIEMPO ORDINARIO
27th Sunday in Ordinary Time
In the midst of the current economic crisis, home foreclosure rates are at an all time high. While the causes are
many, there are several items that economists point to in
particular. The development of new financial instruments,
such as mortgage-backed securities, led investment funds
to seek out more and more investors with promises of
huge returns. Mortgage lenders discovered a ready source
of capital through these funds and went after potential
home buyers whose own finances may have been shaky.
And buyers, dazzled by the prospect of a new home larger
than anything they may have thought possible, entered
into ill-considered contracts that placed them in financial
jeopardy after a few years. The construction industry
added to the market woes by building large tracts of
homes on speculation presuming that future sales would
continue at the record pace that was already beginning to
slow.
A lot of the housing market process was built on
hope: fund managers' hope that profits would remain high;
lenders' hope that buyers would keep coming forward;
buyers' hope that they would earn enough in the future to
afford their mortgage; builders' hope that someone would
buy what they were putting up. Like the landowner in the
parable, there was hope that everything would turn out
just fine with the ever increasing ratcheting up of effort.
It didn't work out in the housing market, and it
didn't work out in the parable either. The landowner's son
was killed. The tenants of the vineyard will meet a
wretched end, and others will get the benefit of the vineyard. The crash of the housing market might be a good
cautionary tale for all of us. While we may want to build
up our own little kingdom here on earth, it is really the
kingdom of God in which our treasure lies. Are we making a regular investment in that kingdom, so that we will
be ready for our final retirement?
Welcome back to our members and new members.
On Tuesday, October 4th, 2011 the Saint Joseph’s CCW
will have their first meeting of the year in the Social
Center (basement of the church) at 12Noon . Doors on
the west and east side of the church will be open. All are
welcome to attend!
The Saint Joseph’s CCW will be serving
breakfast next Sunday after Mass.
Please show them your support!

OCTUBRE 2, 2011
Did you miss the Town Meeting concerning the changes to the Mass? Don't
worry; there will be another one on
Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 6:30 pm
in the Social Center. We will mainly explore the changes to the people's parts of
the Mass, explaining some of the reasons
for the changes. This will help us to understand the "Different Words" on our
banners in the church. In November, Fr. Ken will lead a
session on "Deeper Meaning" of the Mass.

Sharing the Gospel
with Children
You are God's child. He
made you and he loves
you. Make sure you act
like God's child. He created a beautiful world for
you to live in. God expects you to take care of it.
God also created people to live around you. Love
them. Then you will make God happy.
Prayer
Dear God, help me to take care of your world and
love the people around me.
