Tampa Theatre Family Favorites 2015 Press Release

KID-INSPIRED MOVIE SERIES IS BACK, BRINGING
FAMILY FAVORITES TO TAMPA THEATRE
Tampa’s Favorite Theatre Welcomes Young Moviegoers With Family-Targeted Films
and Kids’ Ticket Prices, Presented by Bank of America
TAMPA, Fla. (Feb. 9, 2014) – Tampa Theatre has been a favorite destination for Bay-area moviegoers for
generations. Starting next month, the next generation of young fans will get the chance to see some of their
parents’ most beloved childhood films on the big screen, thanks to the return of the popular Family Favorites classic
movie series, presented by Bank of America.
The Theatre also hopes that offering a discounted kids’ ticket price for this series - $8 for ages 12 and younger – will
appeal to families looking for an affordable weekend outing in downtown Tampa. Adult tickets are $10.
“This is the only classic movie series for which we offer a child’s price,” says Jill Witecki, the Theatre’s Director of
Marketing. “We want to send a message to Tampa’s parents that we hope they’ll bring the whole family out on a
Sunday afternoon for the Family Favorites. While many of our summer and holiday classic offerings are familyfriendly, this series is truly family-targeted.”
The line-up for this year’s Family Favorites classic movie series is:
MATILDA (1996)
3:00pm Sunday, March 22
When a young girl (Mara Wilson) with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge overcomes her parents' disapproval

uncomplicated innocence wins the president's respect, his colleagues' envy and a beautiful woman's love. The
classic coming-of-age story earned Academy Award nominations for Best Original Screenplay and Best Actor for
Tom Hanks. 1h 44m/Rated PG/Comedy

characters, Shrek's quiet, introverted life is ruined. Joined by the talkative Donkey (Eddie Murphy), Shrek makes his
way to Farquaad's kingdom, where the Lord promises to rid Shrek's land of the unwanted visitors if Shrek will go on a

his cell phone than his family. But when Peter's son and daughter are kidnapped by the villainous Captain Hook
(Dustin Hoffman), Peter's faithful pal Tinkerbell (Julia Roberts) helps him return to Neverland, where the Lost Boys try
to get him in shape for his fight with Hook. Bob Hoskins costars as Hook's right-hand man, Smee, and Gwyneth
