Process for building over or building within 3 meters of a sewer, for sewer
pipe over 375mm (15”) in diameter.
Submit
Application
•You will need to submit your application on-line for building over or building within 3 meters of a sewer agreement
and pay fee of £1300. VAT is not applicable to this service. (You can also do this by post). Please refer to your application
form for costs relating to a disabled applicant.
•We will do a technical assessment of your application. We will request further information and work with you to achieve
approval if we are unable to consent your application at this time.
Technical •Once we have agreed your design, we will order a pre-construction CCTV survey to check the condition of the sewer.
assessment •We will instruct our solicitors to draft the legal Deed of Easement once the sewers condition has been confirmed

acceptable.
•Additional information may be required at this stage, if this is not provided and/or the Deed of Easement is not completed
we will be unable to give consent for you to start works.
•In certain circumstances where it is not possible to approve your application, we will then issue a full refund.

•Once the Deed of easement is registered and the proposed works have been approved, we will then issue you with a letter
to commence the approved works.
•You will need to advise us once your building works are completed.

•We will then order a post construction CCTV survey to check the condition of the sewer after your works are
completed.
•Once we have approved the CCTV survey we will send you a buildover agreement.
