What will I be doing? (Contribution statement)
The post holder will provide a professional dog grooming service using the College’s dog grooming facilities
and equipment. This post supports the commercial work of the department of animal care. The post holder will
assist with developing a client base, taking bookings and collecting payments in accordance with the college’s
financial policy and procedures. The highest standards of customer care will be vital to this post and the
development of the business.
The post holder will provide a professional dog grooming service both in and out of term time including during
weekends on a rota basis. They will also supervise and assess staff employed to wash dogs prior to grooming.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1.
To provide a professional dog grooming service using the colleges dog grooming facilities
and equipment.
2.
To assist with developing a client base
3.
To take bookings and collect payments in accordance with the college’s financial policy
and procedures.
4.
To maintain the hygiene of the grooming room and associated resources.
5.
To follow and help maintain stock control procedures for materials and equipment
6.
To assist with the promotion of the unit’s work. This may involve speaking to visiting
groups and showing them around the resource.
7.
To assist with the maintenance of customer records and maintain appropriate
confidentiality
8.
To assist in the preparation of marketing and promotional materials used to enhance the
commercial and educational value of the department.
9.
To work in a flexible and supportive way to ensure that client’s and colleague’s needs are
catered for and supported
10.
To work with students and colleagues, including apprentices and those undergoing work
experience placements and help with their supervision, training and assessment.
11.
To undertake such other duties and meet the responsibilities as identified in the College’s
Health and Safety Policy.
