LADY FLORENCE BJELKE-PETERSEN, of Kingaroy Qld, is a
foundation patron of QCM and as an elected delegate for 0CM at
the Constitutional Convention at Canberra, argued strongly for
our constitutional monarchy. Lady Flo is a former long-serving
Senator for Queensland, and the widow of the late Sir Joh, who
was Queensland’s longest serving and greatest Premier.

CR THE HON YVONNE CHAPMAN, of Kallangur, Qld is a
foundation patron and president and one of the key-note
speakers who launched QCM a decade ago at the Kedron-Wavell
RSL in Chermside, Q., when the Australian flag was raised and a
solemn declaration was taken to defeat the republican-socialist
push. Today she is the long-serving mayor of Pine Rivers Shire.
She was also a former State Government minister and MLA for
her district.
MICHAEL DARBY, of Manly, NSW, is QCMs inaugural web master,
and chaired QCM’s giant 1999 referendum launch and rally in
Brisbane, which led to the defeat of the elitist republican push
later that year. It was Mr. Darby who first urged monarchists in
Brisbane to organise QCM as a fighting movement to defeat
republican ambitions in Qld. As a consequence, this State led the
nation and other States in rejecting republican schemes to
dismantle the constitution.

PASTOR DAVID DOUGLAS, of Slacks Creek, Q., is a past QCM
president, who has vigorously campaigned for the constitutional
monarchy in a number of capacities. For decades as a Church of
God preacher, he promoted the concept that the forthcoming
Kingdom of God on earth would be a monarchy and republicans
best get used to it now.

DR. RUPERT GOODMAN, AM, BA, D.Ed, PhD, TPTC, BHD(ANU), FACE,
of St. Lucia in Brisbane, is a patron of QCM, and a renowned “Rat
of Tobruk” who made a name for himself as an
educator on his return from the War. He was also a long-serving
president of the Australian Flag Association, and as such, raised
the Flag at QCMs inaugural rally.

TOM KING, of the Gold Coast, Q., is the serving QCM president. Tom
has had a remarkable career in the Queensland public service, and
as an innovator of note, has held the highest offices in political
movements in Queensland. He is a frequent contributor in the
letters-to-the-editor columns of Queensland newspapers.

BRUCE RUXTON, OBE, AM., Legion d’Honneur, of Tewantin, Q., is
an inaugural patron of QCM from interstate, where many know him
as “Mr. RSL” because of his decades of selfless service to defence
interests, RSL, and veteran organisations and their families. After
his return from the war in the Pacific, he was elected president of
the Victorian RSL, and national vice- president, and was a leading
campaigner in the defeat of the republican referendum of 1999.

DR. GLEN SHElL, MBBS, FRCP, FRACGP, of Paddington, Qld is an elected
QCM delegate to the Constitutional Convention as well as a QCM
foundation patron. He was a long-serving Senator for Queensland in the
Federal Parliament, and has had a distinguished medical career.
DON SISSON, CD, M.Pub.Adm., BAA(J), Dip 3., of Aspley, Qld is foundation
general secretary and convener of QCM, and editor of Crown, the official
journal of QCM. As a journalist, he has held sundry offices in capital
city, metro and country newspapers as well as service with military,
public service and political establishments.
