Welcome
Visitors –
 Angela, Reading Specialist, from McLean 6th Grade (520 students, 130 reading below grade level)
 Mentoring program where 20 adults come to school and help out with kids reading below 6th grade
levels
 Asking for 60 mentors or “reading coaches” for the first week of October
 A day out of every week to read with the students for thirty minutes
 Pick them up from class, talk to them, and read from one of four novels for comprehension
 Angela has all the programming planned out, including composition books
 October to end of May commitment, very accommodating with schedules
 QR code with link to website with whole presentation, summaries, getting-to-know-you, etc.
 Contact her if you want to get involved (doesn’t have to be just for mentorship, open to big

 Must complete online application and background check to volunteer for FW ISD (education
majors that have already worked for FW ISD will not need to do this)

i. Only new members should fill it out!!! If Amy needs an active member to fill it out, she
will reach out to you directly.
ii. From Amy: “DO NOT instruct your active members to submit a Membership
Compliance Form. Only new members are to fill it out. If Amy needs an active member
to fill it out, she will email you specific names. Deadline for new members is September
25. If they do not complete the form, they will not be on your fall roster or grade report,
and they will not have swipe access to your house. Amy will update you in
approximately 2 weeks what new members have completed the form. Familiarize
yourself with the instructions so you can assist your new members with the form
correctly.”

 AXΩ - We hope everyone had a great recruitment and a great first few days of class!
 AΔΠ – We are so excited to have our new members and to have them attend their first new member
meeting on Sunday!
 AOΠ – We had a great recruitment, and we had a great time getting to know our new members at brunch
this past Sunday at Bar Louie!
 XΩ - Looking forward to a great semester with everyone! Tonight we are welcoming the new members
by having a special formal pledging ceremony and this weekend we have a special initiation in store for
some special people! So excited about our 72 new members!
 ΔΔΔ – We hope everyone has a good syllabus week and congrats to everyone on their new members!
 ΔΓ – We had a great recruitment and an awesome bid day celebrating our new members! We hope that
everyone had a great summer!
 ΓΦΒ – We hope everyone had a fantastic summer and a great recruitment! We're so excited to welcome
PC '15!
 KAΘ – We were so happy to welcome our new pledge class on Friday! We hope everyone has a good
first week of classes!

 ΠΒΦ – We're excited for our sisterhood event on Sunday where we will all be participating in the frogs for
the cure music video!!
 ΣK – We had such a fun time during recruitment and are very excited about our new members! This
weekend we have a really exciting sisterhood event that we can’t wait for!
 ZTA - We hope everyone had a fabulous recruitment and work week!! We LOVE our new pledge class
and can't wait to get to know them better. Sunday is the Frogs for the Cure music video shoot, so please
come and join us as we raise breast cancer awareness on our campus! Have a good first week back!
