Tuesday, May 5th is Untangle Tuesday - During flex 1, come to the gym to learn/participate in a variety of
mindfulness activities. Coloring, zentangles, yoga, music … check it out! Bring a cup/jug full of water to get a
squirt of flavor for your water! At 12:30, there will be a performance of "Shape of a Girl" by Joan MacLeod in the
Media Centre. This play focuses on bullying among girls and is based on the Reena Virk murder in Victoria.
Lethbridge is hosting the Canadian Quilt Show at the University of Lethbridge. The best quilts in Canada will
be on display and we are invited! Along with checking out the fabulous quilts and displays on this field trip, we are
also touring the U of L Costume Shop. If you are interested in joining us on this field trip on June 4th from
12:15–3pm please see Karen in room 210 for forms and more information.
Grad Student Meeting – the last grad meeting is today during 1st flex in Chantel’s room (114).
The Learning Commons will be closed today for Elections.

Chinook Volleyball - Chinook Men’s & Women’s Volleyball will be hosting their annual spring volleyball camp
June 8–12, 2015. Any athletes interested in playing volleyball at Chinook next year should see Jamie or Ard to
pick up their registration form.

Wednesday, May 6th is Hats ON for Mental Health Day - Please wear a hat all day to raise awareness of the
importance of good mental health!

Thursday, May 7th is Nature Day - Enjoy nature and hide your phones. Come outside for flex time and blow
some bubbles and draw on the sidewalk! Feel the grass and soak up the vitamin D! Bring your water and get a
squirt of flavor for your water!
Movie Thursday – Take a break from homework and join GSA in room 113 on Thursday, May 7, to watch the
movie Pride. Pride is based on a true story about U.K. gay activists who worked to help miners during their
lengthy strike of the National Union of Mineworkers in the summer of 1984. Everyone is welcome!!
The Interact Club would like to invite you to its 4th annual Spaghetti Spectacular Dinner on May 22nd
at 6:00PM in the cafeteria. This spring themed event will feature a spaghetti dinner with live
entertainment, a pie toss and a dance to follow. Proceeds raised will be used to support the children
and families of The Faith Foundation in Kinigi, Rwanda. Ticket prices are $20 for Adults, $15 for
Students/Seniors, and $10 for Children (12 and under). Children under 3 receive free admission. You
can purchase tickets in the textbook center or from an Interact member.

Off Campus Education Facilitator Andrew Krul and Administrative Support Jacquie Lowe will be at CHS to provide
students an opportunity to sign up for Summer Work Experience. Mamta Di Palma (Career Practitioner) will be in
attendance to sign students up for HCS3000 which is a pre-requisite for the program.

Alberta Milk - Milk Every Moment Scholarship - for students who achieve a balance in school, home and
community life. ASAA member schools may submit a nomination for one male and one female. The application
form must be signed by the school principal/assistant principal. Deadline: June 30.
All grade 12 Students - If you are signed up for work experience you have until May 29, 2015 to submit your hours
to Mamta. We cannot take any hours after May 29, 2015.
Grade 11 Merit Award - If you are planning to enter the U of L from high school the following award is available to
you:
Value: $500 or $800; 75%-79.9% will receive $500 and 80% or above will receive $800
Approximately 150 scholarships will be granted to the highest achieving Grade 11 students.
Separate scholarship application required by June 30.
