Day 1 - Oct 3 (Mon) – Arrival in Frankfurt, Germany
Welcome to Frankfurt. Meet your tour director at the airport for a transfer to your hotel. Time to rest or to start exploring the bustling metropolis on the Main River.
Tonight meet your Tour Director and traveling companions for a special welcome dinner at a local restaurant. (D)
Day 2 - Oct 4 (Tue) – Frankfurt – Day excursion to Heidelberg
Join your local guide for an excursion to Heidelberg, Germany’s oldest university town, of Student Prince fame. Time to stroll around in the Old Town, then ride the
FUNICULAR up the hill and visit the red-walled CASTLE where the GREAT VAT, a 58,000-gallon 18th-century wine cask, attracts particular attention. (B)
Day 3 - Oct 5 (Wed) – Frankfurt –Rhine Cruise - Cologne
A special treat at the very start of your journey through Germany is a romantic RHINE CRUISE along the most scenic section of the Rhine River, with castle-crested
hills, terraced vineyards, pretty wine towns, and the Lorelei rock. Disembark and drive to Cologne to visit the awesome gothic CATHEDRAL. Its twin 515-foot towers,
five naves, splendid stained-glass windows, and the shrine of the Three Holy Kings are eloquent testimony to the quality of medieval engineering and craftsmanship.
Afterwards, enjoy a beer at the Cölner Hofbräu Früh, one of Cologne’s famous breweries. (B,D)
Day 4 - Oct 6 (Thu) – Cologne– EUROCITY train to Berlin
Ride the EUROCITY TRAIN to Berlin, capital of reunited Germany. Join your Local Guide at the train station for sightseeing in the once-divided metropolis includes the
elegant Ku’damm, the restored Reichstag, Charlottenburg Palace, a picture stop at monumental Brandenburg Gate and the Holocaust Memorial, and the 210-foot
Victory Column in the vast Tiergarten park. Visit the KAISER WILHELM MEMORIAL CHURCH with its bomb-damaged tower, drive along Unter den Linden Boulevard,
and pass the State Opera House and Checkpoint Charlie. (B,D)
Day 5 - Oct 7 (Fri) – At Leisure in Berlin
A full day at leisure gives you a chance to join one of our exciting optional excursions, like The Third Reich Berlin: Hitler and WWII – The final days, an excursion to
nearby Potsdam or perhaps the Berlin Zoo. (B)

Day 6 - Oct 8 (Sat) – Berlin - Wroclaw,Poland
Depart today for Wroclaw, the historical capital of Silesia. This impressive city belonged over the ages to Bohemia, Austria,
Prussia, Germany, and after 1945 to Poland. Hear about its turbulent history during your guided tour, and admire its
highlights, such as the CATHEDRAL and the MARKET SQUARE with its fine patrician houses. (B, D)
Day 7 - Oct 9 (Sun) – Wroclaw - Auschwitz – Krakow
Celebrate MASS this morning at a local church. Then depart for Auschwitz and visit what is left of the CONCENTRATION
CAMP, a chilling reminder of the Holocaust and the most notorious among the World War II concentration camps. Continue
to Krakow and check into the hotel. As for this evening, we are still working on an authentic Polish evening, including dinner
and entertainment…..more to come later. (B)
Day 8 - Oct 10 (Mon) –- Krakow
Your sightseeing with a Local Guide in ancient Krakow features the Market Square, the 14th-century Jagiellonian University,
and ST. MARY’S CHURCH. Take pictures of the impressive Wawel Royal Castle. Then, enjoy a special guided visit to the
OSKAR SCHINDLER FACTORY, made famous in the movie Schindler’s List. Return to the hotel. This afternoon enjoy a visit
to the famous WIELICZKA SALT MINES. (B)
Day 9 - Oct 11 (Tue) – Krakow – Prague, Czech Republic
Depart today for Prague, capital of the Czech Republic. On your evening tour learn the legends of this fascinating city while
enjoying spectacular views. Stroll along the cobblestone lanes in the Old Town, stopping at a local tavern to taste famous
Czech beer and to listen to traditional melodies. Walk across the illuminated 14th-century Charles Bridge and admire the
magnificent view of Prague Castle. (B)
Day 10 - Oct 12 (Wed) – Prague
Morning sightseeing with a Local Guide features the 1,000-year-old HRADCANY CASTLE GROUNDS, St. Vitus Cathedral,
the Old Town, the Jewish ghetto, and the ASTRONOMICAL CLOCK, once the envy of all Europe. A unique and exclusive
visit has been included to the magnificent LIBRARY OF STRAHOV MONASTERY. (B)
Day 11 - Oct 13 (Thu) - Prague
A full day at leisure to explore this fascinating city; your Tour Director will be on hand for suggestions. (B, D)
Day 12 - Oct 14 (Fri) – Prague – Regensburg - Munich, Germany
Head west today and stop in Regensburg where guided sightseeing features the Stone Bridge, the oldest preserved bridge
of its kind in Germany; the Porta Pretoria, built in the 2nd century by Emperor Marcus Aurelius; and St. Peter’s Cathedral.
Enjoy a light lunch at the Historic Sausage Kitchen, where you can enjoy a “medieval hot dog.” Continue to Munich for your
overnight stay. Celebrate your final evening with a traditional German dinner at a local restaurant tonight. (B, L, D)
Day 13 - Oct 15 (Sat) – Departure from Munich
