This relaxed and atmospheric house is set in the 1950s, when Agatha and her family would spend summers and Christmastime here with friends, relaxing by the river, playing croquet and clock golf and reading her latest mystery to their guests. The family were great collectors and the house is filled with archaeology, Tunbridge Ware, silver, botanical china and books. The gardens are home to over 2,700 species of trees and plants... Why not follow the route that Agatha Christie would have taken by boarding the steam train to Churston and then travel along the picturesque country lanes to her treasured holiday home? The shuttle bus coordinates with the train timetable, it is disabled friendly and drops you at the entrance. Alternatively, if you are feeling a little more adventurous, you can board the steam train to Greenway Halt and take the 30 minute walk to the estate, (sturdy footwear is recommended). Either way you will be guaranteed a warm welcome. ! RESTRICTED PARKING Phone ahead to book a space on 01803 842382 or use the FREE shuttle bus (see timetable overleaf) Sitting on the banks of the beautiful River Dart with simply stunning views, Greenway House and Garden is run by The National Trust. Formerly the holiday home of Agatha Christie and her family, it holds the family collection of the famous author. Don’t miss... The Peach House The views from the Top Garden over the river are breathtaking In the garden don’t miss the large and romantic woodland which drifts down the hillside towards the sparkling Dart estuary. The walled gardens are home to the restored peach house and vinery, as well as an allotment cared for by local school children.
