join us and celebrate the women/ladies that take care of us.
Pauline Benton has volunteered to coordinate the meal for the Cedar Grove Middle School
chorus when they come for their spring concert, scheduled for May 12. If you would
like to help, please see Pauline or call the church office.
Sharon UMC is in the process of putting together a two-person team, (or several
teams) to enter the Brunswick County Literacy Council’s Annual Spelling Bee,
scheduled for May 16. We will be challenging other United Methodist Churches in
the area to compete as well. Proceeds raised will be used to combat adult illiteracy in Brunswick County.
Say hello to Jim Rogers, our Duke summer intern.
Jim graduated from the Citadel before attending
Duke Divinity School. We have arranged lodging for
him and now are in the process of putting together
meals for him. If you would like to sign up for a
meal in your home or to take him out to eat, please
call the church office. Jim will arrive at Sharon
May 28 and conclude his time with us on August 7.
We need individuals to serve as coordinators for several areas of our Vacation Bible School. We are in our final two months countdown so it is time
to get busy. If you can help with refreshments, crafts, decorations or story time please see Eddie or call the church office. This year’s VBS is scheduled for June 26-30 and the theme is “Let The Games Begin”, which will
be a Grecian theme. Our next planning meeting is May 19 at 6pm.
Our former church member, Ms. Katheryn Bowman
is not doing well and will be moving to an assisted
living facility effective May 20th. Her new address
is 2093 Northwestern Pike Apt. 122 Winchester, VA
22603. Her cell phone number is 540-539-6883.
We will have our celebration of Youth Sunday on May 29. As part of the morning’s activities, we would like to honor all of our graduating seniors. If you have a family member who
will be graduating, we would love to include their names, Sharon relationship, where they are
from and future plans if they are known. Please submit this information to the church office.
Our next Membership Sunday will be Sunday, May 22. If you have prayerfully
considered making Sharon UMC your official church home, we invite you to call
the church office and schedule a time to meet with Preacher Eddie.
The Worship Team will meet Tuesday, May 10th, at 7pm. Please contact Rachele Hobbs to
confirm attendance and/or regret. Email: [email protected]. Phone: 910-8422002. Members of the Worship Team are Rachele Hobbs, Gail Beck, James Bell, Ty Carney,

Team are Terry Bellamy, Jill Flaccavento, Wanda Cobb, Chase Hill, Martin Hommer,

There has been a schedule change for the Narcotics Anonymous group that meets
at Sharon UMC. The group will be meeting Sunday evenings at 6 and Tuesday at
7pm. The Wednesday night group has moved to Tuesday.
