Sports Budgets

Individual team sports budgets will follow the mission and goals of the university and department of
athletics. In January of each academic year the director of athletics and head coach will begin
discussions to formalize the budget for the next fiscal year’s budget. The director of athletics will
incorporate these budgets with the overall department budget and submit to the vice president for
finance and operations and the President.
All personnel are expected to stay within the allotted budget given to them to manage. Every effort
should be made to expend monies according to SHSU equipment purchasing and bid policies.

All fund-raising will be coordinated through university advancement and the director of athletics.
Bearkat Partners policies require memberships based upon individual and corporate membership drives.
All fund-raising must have prior approval of the university and director of athletics. Funds must be
deposited in the university account set up for these activities. All university, NCAA and Southland
