Vegetable Share 2012 The Turtle Bay CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is a way to create a relationship with a local farm. Members purchase CSA shares in the winter or early spring and receive a weekly assortment of produce directly from the farmer over the course of 22 weeks from mid-June to early November. THE SHARE Turtle Bay CSA members visit Free Bird Farm and try their hand at harvesting garlic scapes (bagging plenty of extras to take home!) during the annual farm trip in June 2012. Growing fresh, high-quality produce for Turtle Bay CSA members is Free Bird Farm — a smallscale, diversified, certified organic farm based in Upstate NY’s Mohawk Valley. Free Bird Farm grows more than 100 varieties of certified organic vegetables and herbs and raises all their animals on pasture without antibiotics.
