Introduction
Self-instillation with Gepan® instill should be only done on orders of your doctor. This folder is meant to support the
information and instruction of your doctor and to guide you through the steps of self catheterization.
The course of treatment follows a specific plan which your doctor will inform you about.
1 Take your time.
3 Draining of the bladder
Before you start wash your hands and make sure you have
the syringe and a catheter within reach.
1.Pass urine as you would normally do. Avoid pressing
with your abdominal muscles.
2.Wash with water around the urethral opening.
3. Wash your hands.
It is possible to warm up Gepan® instill to body tem
perature before use.
Unwrap syringe and
use – if you don’t have
a catheter with luerlock – the enclosed
adapter.
Remove the protection cap of the catheter. Stand in front
of the toilet.
a) Hold your penis upwards. Slowly
and carefully insert the catheter
into your urethra until the urine
starts running through the catheter into the toilet if you have
not emptied your bladder completely. Support the catheter with
your thumb.
