Wedding Cake Contract
We are excited you have chosen Mason Dixon Bakery to be a part of your
wedding day! Your wedding cake is one of the most important accessories to your
big day and our job is to make it beautiful, unique, delicious, and worry free.
Pricing
Our gluten free wedding cake pricing is a flat rate of $5.50 a serving.
Additional allergens (dairy free, egg free, Paleo) can be addressed and pricing is
determined on a case-by-case basis. Gluten free sheet cakes can be prepared to
increase the number of servings without increasing tier size at a cost of $3.25 a
serving. Cupcakes can also be prepared at $3.50 a serving. Gumpaste and fondant
flowers can be added to cupcakes, with a charge determined on a case-by-case basis.
Delivery
A flat rate delivery and set-up fee of $25 is assessed to all cakes delivered to
the Huntsville area. A delivery fee of $50 is assessed to deliveries made to Madison,
Decatur, Hartselle, and Hampton Cove areas. Outside this radius, the delivery charge
will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Mason Dixon Bakery is not responsible
for any damages incurred to the cake after delivery and set up is complete.
Deposit
All wedding cakes require a $100 deposit to reserve your date. This deposit
is non-refundable, but will be subtracted from the final amount due. The remaining
balance is due 2 weeks prior to your wedding date. We will accept cash, check or
credit card, but a 2.75% service fee will be added to credit card orders. A 10 % late
fee will be assessed if the final payment is received after the 2 week prior deadline.
Cake Consultation
We require wedding cakes to have an initial cake consultation to discuss size,
design, flavors and special needs. At this consultation, you will have the opportunity
to taste flavor combinations in 6 inch round cakes. The first cake is complementary
and each additional cake is $15.
Changes to Design and Size
We understand that after our initial meeting, the number of servings needed
or the design desired may change. You may make changes in size up to 3 weeks
prior to the wedding date. The design can be changed up to 1 month prior to the
wedding date. After these points, both the design and size is set.
Inclement Weather/Environmental Emergencies
As long as we have electricity, we will do everything in our power to
complete your order as discussed. If we are unable to complete and deliver your
cake due to emergencies that are not within our control, we will call you as soon as
possible and do everything we can to assist you. In any situations out of our control,
all monies paid will be refunded.
If you need to reschedule your date, prior to 2 weeks ahead of the wedding,
we will transfer $100 of the deposit to the new date. If you cancel your order prior
to 2 weeks before the wedding date, the deposit will not be refunded. If you cancel
or reschedule within two weeks of the wedding date, no money will be refunded or
transferred.
Materials
For cakes requiring a significant amount of equipment, an equipment deposit
is required to cover the cost of any items not returned or damaged during the event.
All materials used for assembly and display of your wedding cake must be returned
by the Wednesday following the wedding. The cost of any items not returned, or
returned damaged, will be deducted from the deposit.
Fresh Flowers
We recommend that you consider adding inexpensive, fresh greenery around
the base of your cake. If you are using fresh flowers on your cake, your florist is
responsible for providing the flowers and ensuring that they are safe to place on an
edible cake. It is important to note that not all flowers are safe to come into contact
with food, so please discuss these options with your florist. The florist is responsible
for placing the flowers on the cake.
Anniversary Cake
Because your beautiful wedding cake will not freeze well, we will gladly
provide a fresh 6 inch round anniversary cake free of charge. Please contact us at
least 2 weeks before your first anniversary to request your cake. We cannot ship
anniversary cakes, but you can order your anniversary cake at your convenience,
within 3 months of your anniversary.
