Distributive Property
= Allows you to rewrite a sum of terms in
Expanded Form with common factors into an
equivalent expression in Factored Form.
Factored Form using Integers
= Product of the common factor and the sum of
the other two factors.
Factored Form with Variables
• Distributive Property can be used to write
equivalent expressions from Factored Form
into Expanded Form.
Example: 5 • (3 + 2) = 5 • 3 + 5 • 2
