Graphing Points from a Ratio Table

Name: ______________________________________________________
Graphing Points from a Ratio Table
Plot the pairs of values on the coordinate plane. A ratio table is just a group of equivalent
ratios. The pairs of numbers in the table can be graphed onto a coordinate plane.
Step 1: Write the pairs of values in the
table as coordinates.
Example
Step 2: Plot the points. The x value tells
you to go right and the y value tells you to
go up.
Step 3: Connect the dots and add arrows
to show that you can continue to scale the
ratio up or down. The values from a ratio
table should create a straight line.
1. Create a ratio table for the ratio 5:1
and plot the pairs of values.

2. There is 1 cup of sugar
for every 3 cups of flour
in a oatmeal raisin cookie
recipe. Create a ratio table
that shows how much of
each item would be needed
when wanting to make more
than one batch of cookies.
Then plot the points on the
coordinate plane.
