Little Free Libraries Up and Running
We now have 3 Little Libraries in the Preserve located at the Barn playground, Stan Nesbitt Trail on Center Way, and at the Basswood Road
Tot Lot. There are additional libraries on Amsden Way and Clubhouse
Road. Adult and children book donations are accepted in the boxes or
at the Preserve Barn. Enjoy Reading the Summer!
Little Free Library is a nonprofit organization that supports the worldwide movement to offer free books housed in small containers to members of the local community.
How it works: The libraries belong to everyone. Anyone may use them.
They offer a way to share good things to read.
Eagle Scout Project
Take a Book. Share a Book. Give a Book.
Preserve Updates
Diving Well
This spring the Board approved resurfacing of the 40 year old
Diving Well. Each year was costing more to plaster, patch,
retile and paint. As a result we have had the walls repaired
and resurfaced with a different process that will last for
many years to come and will save us money on patching and
chemicals used for treating the water. The product has only been in the U.S. for about
five years and in Europe for over 20 years. It is a surface that is used in Sea World pools
and is very environmentally friendly. The best part is it was less expensive than the other
process of plastering.
Trees and Wildflowers
The Board for the second year has worked to place a variety of new trees throughout our properties that over time will help to offset the trees we lose each year. In addition to trees we have
seeded some common areas with wildflowers and many are beginning to emerge and will be
growing for many years to come.
“Spirit of the Preserve”
If you have a neighbor you would like to recognize for taking good care of their property and
stands out as a great neighbor please let us know. We will be recognizing Preserve residents in
upcoming newsletters. Send an email to [email protected] with a brief paragraph
and a picture if you have one. All categories are welcome– great landscaping, attractive exterior
appearance, holiday decorations, just a very helpful person/neighbor –they all count.
