The Pole of Pride
Taking pride in what you do is great. Taking pride in the way you
dress is fine. However being and continuing to be prideful about
things is a dangerous path. Take Haman the Agagite, during the time
of King Xerxe’s and Queen Esther he took pride in being known to
others. His pride in what he had done and who he was far exceeded
anything else in his life, he bragged and became so prideful to the
point where it was his own death sentence, on the pole which he had
set up to impale Mordecai . His Pride became bigger than his honour
for the King, and bigger than he could handle. It is easy to say “look
at me” but our focus is God! We should tell of the great things he
has done for us and through us, not what we have done for God.
Do you take pride in what you do?
Or are you boasting and being prideful like Haman?
2 Corinthians 10:17 “But, Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord”
