X/Y Axis Maintenance X/Y AXIS BELT MAINTENANCE Your printer will work properly if X and Y axes belts are tense. There are short belts and long belts in your printer. Check if neither of them is loose. Tug each belt gently to check its tension. Make sure that the printer is turned off and all parts are cold. Wear safety gloves. Detach the motor connector. Loosen the four screws mounting the motor (pic. 3). Press the motor down to tense up the belt (pic.4). While the motor is still pressed down, tighten the screws. Keep the belt tightened. Attach the motor connector. X/Y DRIVE PULLEYS MAINTENANCE Drive pulleys next to short belts. Detach the motor connector (pic. 1) and unscrew the four screws mounting the motor (pic. 2). 1/3 Take the motor and the aluminum spacer block out (pic. 3) and tighten the screws mounting the pulley (pic. 4). Mount the motor and the aluminum spacer block and partly tighten the screws. Press the motor down to tense up the belt (pic. 6). While the motor is still pressed down, tighten the screws. Keep the belt tightened. Attach the motor connector. Place the extruder at the center of the printer. Tighten the screws on the axes blocks (pic. 7). The X axis block has screws on top of it and the Y axis has screws underneath it. Check if belts are not loose and if they vibrate when you gently tug them. There are 8 other drive pulleys next to long belts with two screws on each pulley. Tighten each screw (16 times altogether) on every drive pulley. NOTE! If you have troubles reaching a screw on a given pulley, move the extruder so that the pulley rotates in a given direction. 2/3 Copyright © 2016 Zortrax Support Center.
