Thankfulness
I hope you have all had a lovely, relaxing half-term break. I can’t believe we are already into the second half
of the autumn term and the countdown to the Christmas holidays. This term is always a special one for a
Church of England school with the excitement of the children in the
approaching festivities, the traditional Christingle service and ‘specialness’ of
this Christian festival. It is important that the meaning of Christmas does not
get lost and with that in mind we will be basing our Christian Value around the
theme of ‘Thankfulness’ for this half-term. We all have so much to be thankful
for and I am keen for the children to recognise all they have to be thankful
for. Please find attached a copy of our theme sheet for ideas to use at home
to support this theme.
Pantomime
Minsterworth School will be visiting the
Pantomime this year. We will be seeing Jack and
the Beanstalk at the Everyman Theatre at 10am
on Thursday 15th December.
Tickets are available at £10.00 each to include

always with Minsterworth Trips.
Please complete the attached letter and return
with the money to the office by Friday 11th
November.

is vital that the children’s PE

skiing starts tomorrow. All children
attending will need to bring their jogging
trousers and a jumper in to school.

Afterschool Clubs
Attendance
Christian Craft Club will be continuing this
half term—starting on Thursday 10th
November for 5 weeks. Please return your
booking slip and money to the office.
Our school attendance for the first term was 97%.
A fantastic start to the school year—please keep
it up.
We are hoping to arrange another club for
this half term, if you are able to volunteer to
help this would be appreciated—we are hoping
it will be a cooking club.
Please contact school before 9.30am if your child
is off sick.
General Reminders
There are a number of children whose attendance
is already below 90%, and letters will be sent out
to Parents of Children whose attendance is a cause
for concern.
Pet to School Afternoon
Quick reminder that we are having a Blue
Cross Assembly at 2.30pm on
Friday afternoon where the
children will talk about pets
and looking after them.
Parents are then allowed to
bring the children’s pets onto
the School playground from
3pm on Friday 4th November.
