CURRICULUM PLAN - What did the Romans do for us

English
We will be looking at descriptive writing and
learning about what makes a great story
opener. We will also be planning and creating
our own descriptive story opener with the
emphasis on settings. The Roman topic will
give us the inspiration for this writing.
In our punctuation and grammar sessions,
the children will be applying what they
already know about possessive apostrophes,
conjunctions and adverbs of time in writing
linked to our class topic.
As always, varied reading comprehension
activities will be practised on a regular
basis.
Science
During this unit children will identify light sources
& discuss the sun.
They will establish that light is reflected off things
that we see & that darkness is an absence of
light. They will look at the transparency of various
materials & the shadows they form and make
enquiries about shadows.
