An educational adventure of a lifetime.
At Indiana State University, the world is now your classroom. Personal employee development, like travel, can be
much more than just an occasional past-time; it can become a better way of life. People often articulate traveling as
fun, adventurous, and exciting which enlightens the mind and soul. We believe the same can be said about learning
and the possibilities that are discovered by your own personal enrichment as an ISU employee.
The Training and Development area of Human Resources is excited to announce the new Passport to Achievement
Program at ISU. This will be an integral part of staff training and professional development offering a wide variety
of educational, stimulating, and cultural excursions that are sure to bring a little more adventure to all employees!
The “Passport” is a pocket-sized document with a cover and several inside pages that are designed to resemble an
actual passport for travel. It is an effective and useful tool in the ongoing campaign to facilitate continued learning of
all employees of the University. By using this Passport, you will be able to keep track of your training and personal
development throughout your ISU career, and use this new tool to help guide you in making location selections for
educational destinations (See the next page for a complete list of those destinations!).
Experience your “Passport to Achievement”.
The Passport to Achievement Program experience is about active exploration. Through employee active
participation, the new Passport to Achievement Program courses help you as an employee expand both mind and
knowledge as you are challenged by each and every course. You will learn through adventure and exploration,
returning to your work location with a deep sense of accomplishment and a better understanding of who you are
and what you can achieve!
Every trip will provide you with ongoing resources and tools to engage and enlighten you as you prepare for your
journey. The courses are designed to integrate Indiana State University into the entire experience, from pre-trip
activities to engage and excite travelers, to assignments that complement various activities that enable each
employee to capture, in their own way, the essence of the trip and what you have learned from it.
When you successfully participate in a training workshop and fulfill one of the designated competencies, you can
present your certificate of completion to the Office of Human Resources and receive a “stamp” in your Passport to
Achievement. Acknowledging employees for the training they have received in the past is also part of the Passport to
Achievement Program. If you have participated in a training workshop in the past, you can bring your certificate of
completion into the Office of Human Resources, and receive a stamp in the Passport for your completed course.
New course listings will be announced on the Training and Development website on a continuous basis and we
highly recommend that you pre-book your excursions as early as possible to assure your desired experience is
available.
Learn adventurously- online, anytime.
Don’t have time to travel the campus abroad for a class? The Passport to Achievement program’s rich digital
content can bring your adventure to life right before your very eyes. Online lessons, webinars, and videos will also
