GIFTED GAZETTE Kaleidoscope Armuchee Elementary School Volume 5 October 2013 Mrs. Day’s Kaleidoscope News Kaleidoscope Dates to Remember Students and Parents: Our Kaleidoscope students have gotten off to a great start this year with our “Caravans” geography unit! The students are enjoying the simulation game that we are playing as we “travel” to each continent and learn about some of the countries on that continent. It is really impossible to learn ALL the countries, but we are enjoying learning about as many as we can! Mrs. Day’s Kaleidoscope News Page 2 Student Expectations International Day This is a reminder that all Kaleidoscope students must meet all Kaleidoscope expectations in the Kaleidoscope classroom. My hope is that all students will do their very best in Kaleidoscope and their regular classrooms this year. Let’s try to complete all assignments and meet all expectations as assigned in our classes this year! This is just a friendly reminder! ☺ Students and Make Up Work Isaac Goes to Egypt Students will miss regular ed class instruction one day per week. The teachers will work with students on any skills introduced on the day that they are in Kaleidoscope classes. The students will not be required to do all class work missed in their regular classes. However, the teacher will need to make sure the students understand the skills taught that day and may possibly give a few problems to make sure of that. This is to make sure that the students succeed in all areas! Teaching Responsibility: Zain shows off his Egyptian Collar and headband At AES, we all try to help our students become more responsible for their work and their obligations. In Kaleidoscope, I emphasize this as well. Your child will keep his/her Kscope papers in their 3 ring binder behind appropriate dividers. They will be expected to bring a pencil to class and return notes home as requested by deadline date. I want to help prepare them as best I can for their future educational experiences. Your assistance and help toward this will be greatly appreciated! Thank you for allowing me to guide your child this year in Kaleidoscope! Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns!
