How will each course assess/grade the IA (how will each instructor know that the students have
integrated their course concepts into the IA and grade accordingly)?
We will be approving topics jointly for the speech and paper. Both courses will have library sessions and
will require extensive evaluation of sources. Kummerer will attend the presentation of all persuasive
speeches and make suggestions for the written version of the argument. To aid in our assessment (and
grading) of the assignments, students will be provided separate rubrics for the speech and paper.
