Now Available through OhioTRAIN
The statewide SIDS Risk Reduction & Infant Safe Sleep Educational Workshop is now available online through
OhioTRAIN. The workshop, presented by the Ohio Department of Health and Baby 1st Network (formerly SID
Network of Ohio), was taped May 3, 2016 and is available through OhioTRAIN until May 3, 2018. Three
contact hours will be awarded to nurses who view the entire workshop and complete an evaluation in
OhioTRAIN.
Learn from the experts about the impact of SIDS and SUID; risk factors and racial disparities;
recommendations for infant safe sleep & SIDS risk reduction; role of the hospital nurse educator; and role of
the home visitor. You will also hear a personal story from a SUID parent and learn about the impact an infant
death has on families.
The Ohio Department of Health (OH-011, 4/1/2019) is an approved provider of continuing nursing education
by the Ohio Nurses Association (OBN-001-91) an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing
Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

If you do not have an OhioTRAIN account, follow these steps to create an account:
1. Proceed to the OhioTRAIN homepage: https://oh.train.org/DesktopShell.aspx.
2. Click “Create Account,” which appears underneath the login on the left hand side of the screen.
3. Review and accept the Terms and Conditions.
4. Fill out all of the necessary information on the subsequent pages. If you would like, you can also fill in
the optional information.
5. When you have finished, click “Continue” to enter the site.
Register for the course:
1. Login to OhioTRAIN (https://oh.train.org/DesktopShell.aspx) with your login name and password.
2. In the search box, located in the upper right corner, search by course ID (1065855).
3. Click the course title.
4. Click the Registration tab.
5. From the select credit type drop down box select, “CNE Contact Hours” or “None”. Click “Launch”.
a. You will receive an email thank you for registering.
6. Watch the entire video. Close the video when finished.
7. Click the link, “HERE”, to return to the course details page.
8. Click “Evaluation” on the Registration tab.
a. The evaluation will pop up in a new window.
9. Click “Start Evaluation”. Complete the evaluation (17 questions).
10. You will receive an e-mail confirming completion of the evaluation.
11. The course will be listed as completed in your Train Transcript.
Access the certificate. Certificates are provided if you selected CNE Contact Hours as the credit type.
1. Click the “Home” tab.
2. Click “My Certificates”.
3. Click “View All Certificates”.
4. Find the correct course. In the far right column, “Certificate”, click the course name.
