Work with 2 to 4 partners. 2. Choose a token and place it at home plate, stack the PLAY BALL baseball cards face down on the pitcher’s mound. 3. Decide who will go first. That partner sits behind the Batter 1 Scoreboard. Batter 4 holds the Answer Key first. 4. Batter 1 chooses a PLAY BALL card from the pitcher’s stack. Place the card on the table for all to see and read the sentence aloud. Decide which word(s) in the sentence is the adjective (the word that describes a noun) and announce it so your partner can check the Answer Key. 5. If the answer is correct, move one base and put the card in the discard pile. If the answer is incorrect, do not move a base and put the card under the pitcher’s stack. 6. Each time a batter gets back to Home Plate, make a tally mark in the batter’s scoreboard. 7. When time is up or all the PLAY BALL cards have been used, count the tally marks in each scoreboard to see who……… WINS!
