What is tentsile?
tentsile is a suspended tent, taking inspiration from
the natural world by mimicking a spider's web.
Made from 3 weights of rip-stop nylon sheet fabrics,
tentsile utilises the material’s integral strengths for
different sections of the tent body.

tentsile offers comfortable sheltered accommodation in
any environment and is the world's first suspended tent
designed for use anywhere, by anyone.

TYPE A TENTSILE - 2 PERSON
Brief Description
Example Set-up Configurations
The 2 person tentsile is designed for lightweight portability and
comfort, able to be set up from any three anchoring points
including trees, buildings and vehicles.
The covered porch area provides suspended seating outside
a zipped door which leads through to a double hammock bed
with storage space underneath. Unlike conventional hammocks,
the material bed is also tensioned width-wise so that the
inhabitants don't roll into each other!

Set-up Time
As with most things, practice will reduce the time it takes
to set up tentsile. In a new and untried location, Type A
set up will take about 20-30 mins. This is reduced to 5mins
if you have used the site before and know the locations of

Set-up Configurations
The 3-4 person tentsile offers suspended accommodation space for
up to four people. With a versatile range of panel configurations,
each occupant benefits from hammock-side windows, optional
mosquito net, under-hammock storage space as well as a number of
attachments loops.
The central area provides a communal space for group activities in
bad weather or at night. This area also has the option of a
removable top fly sheet, window panels and insect mesh to allow
views to the sky and/or tree canopy. A fourth person can sleep on
the mesh-bed of the central space.

A broad range of panel configurations are designed to
protect from insects, maximise light and allow groups of
people to enjoy a unique view of the world together.
The larger body of this model provides enough space for a
double bed in the central space whilst the three 'arm'
hammocks can be widened to provide space for two people.
Each Hammock comes with storage areas beneath and the
option to partition from the communal space for increased
privacy.

Brief Description
tentsile Zent is set up where there as a conventional
tent. The only difference is that the poles become legs
and allow space for the internal bedding area to act as
an enclosed hammock. The concept keeps you off the
cold ground and allows comfortable sleep to take place
even if the ground is not level.
