Sumner School District News Brief February 5, 2015 CONTACT: Sarah Gillispie, Communications Manager [email protected] 253-891-6087 office 206-947-0525 cell Sumner High School Students to host Benefit Night Talent Show and Dinner Auction “Focus on Today” – Bob Jones SUMNER, WA: Sumner High School ASB is hosting the 9th annual Benefit Night Talent Show on February 19 and 20, 2015. This event is held annually to benefit a member of the community and is sponsored by Sumner High ASB. The Benefit Night Talent Show features a variety of performances by students and community members, making for a fun evening of entertainment and laughter for the whole community. Sumner High School ASB is also hosting a dinner and silent auction on March 3, 2015, as part of Benefit Night. This year’s beneficiary is community member Bob Jones. In October of 2013, Bob Jones was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Initially, the outlook looked good until November 2014, in which another tumor was discovered. Despite this adversity, Bob “focuses on today” by finding the positive in everyday life. He brings this energy to the Auburn and Lake Tapps areas as he remains active in athletic/coaching communities. Help support Bob at one of the Benefit Night Events listed below: February 19: Benefit Night Talent Show #1, 7:00 p.m., Sumner High School Performing Arts Center February 20: Benefit Night Talent Show #2, 7:00 p.m., Sumner High School Performing Arts Center March 3: Benefit Night and Dinner Auction, 6:00 p.m., Bonney Lake High School Commons $20 a plate, catered event, silent and live auction Tickets for the March 3 Dinner & Silent Auction are $20 and can be purchased at Sumner High School. Admission to the February 19 and 20 Talent Show is $8 per person; tickets available at the door. All proceeds go to the selected beneficiary.
