Storage Stability If stored in the original, unopened containers, in dry conditions and between
20 – 30 °C, Bronidox® L has a shelf life of 12 months. Storage or transportation
at cold temperature might result in crystallization and reduced activity caused
by crystal separations at the bottom. Such precipitations can be dissolved by
heating up the material to a maximum of 40 °C while stirring.

Bronidox® L might be corrosive on metal materials; thus application in aerosol
products or unprotected metal containers cannot be recommended.
Bronidox® L is temperature stable up to 40 °C and not subject to changes when
applied in surfactant preparations in the pH range of 5 – 8.
Trace Metal Content Analysis of BASF Bronidox® L shows that the trace metal content is less than 10 ppm
in the product.
Antimicrobial Activity Bronidox® L has a broad spectrum activity against bacteria and fungi. Due to its
good compatibility with other cosmetic raw materials it can be also combined with
other preservatives.
In accordance with the Cosmetic Products Regulation ((EC)1223/2009), the conditions
of use for 5-Bromo-5-nitro-1,3-dioxane are listed in Annex V (reference number 20).
It is approved to a maximum concentration of 0.1% for use in rinse-off products
only and the formation of nitrosamines must be avoided.

at our disposal, Bronidox® L should not exert any harmful effects on health. This
is provided that they are used properly, that due attention is given to the safety
and industrial hygiene precautions necessary for handling chemicals and that the
information and advice given on our Safety Data Sheets are observed.
Handling and Storage Contact with eyes and skin should be avoided. Safety goggles must be worn when
handling the concentrated product. The product should be stored in sealed containers
as supplied, in dry conditions at temperatures not exceeding 40 °C.
Recommended storage temperature: 20 – 30 °C.
