The Idaho Judicial Branch is a national leader in efficient and effective court administration, access to justice, and innovative service to the public. Salary Range: The annual base salary for the Administrative Director of the Courts will be between $112,000 and $130,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications. As described in Chapter 6 of Title 1 of the Idaho statutes, the Supreme Court appoints the Administrative Director of the Courts to assist it with administration of the Judicial Branch. Idaho Court Administrative Rule 43A provides the governance structure for the Idaho Courts. Idaho Code section 1-612 describes the statutory duties of the Administrative Director of the Courts. Additionally, the Administrative Director of the Courts works closely with the Supreme Court in order to set the strategic direction of the Idaho Judicial Branch. The position has oversight of the Administrative Office of the Courts which provides leadership and services statewide in a number of areas including: Court Management, Community and Family Justice Services, Intergovernmental Relations, Legal Counsel, Information Technology, Finance and Operations, and Human Resources. Position Announcement Examples of Duties (continued): Page 2 The Idaho Supreme Court, through the Administrative Director of the Courts, has a number of advisory workgroups and committees of judges, lawyers, and administrators that provide recommendations and advice for policy-making, business practice change, and service delivery. The Administrative Director of the Courts advocates for the branch with the legislative and executive branches and interacts on behalf of the Idaho Courts with various constituencies including the bar, state and local justice system partners, and citizens groups. Typical Qualifications: The successful candidate must have significant senior-level leadership experience in the public sector. The individual must be able to thrive in a demanding, fast-paced environment, navigate ambiguity, balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, and provide innovative solutions to complex organizational problems. The individual selected must be able to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders including judges, court personnel, legislators, justice system partners, and the public; Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school or a Master’s Degree in Judicial Administration or a related field is required; A minimum of ten (10) years of public sector executive-level experience leading administrative functions and developing strong executive leadership teams; Preference may be given to applicants with court experience; Experience with public sector budgeting processes, including the ability to advocate for and present budget and financial information to legislative committees or to a similar funding authority, and experience creating innovative solutions to manage public sector budget challenges; Ability to create a compelling vision for the future of court operations, as well as carry out the objectives of the Idaho Supreme Court on a day-to-day basis; Ability to manage multiple priorities, intense demands for results and accountability, and large amounts of information; Ability to build coalitions and collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders; Position Announcement Typical Qualifications : (continued) Page 3 Ability to create and deliver major presentations to stakeholder groups to educate and inform about judicial branch activities; Experience implementing large-scale innovative solutions to complex organizational problems; Experience developing and implementing organization-wide strategic plans; Experience working with large governing boards; Experience working with elected officials Supplemental Information: The Idaho Judicial Branch offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, life, disability, and pre-tax account.
