Brat Fest Volunteer Tasks

Tasks may also be added that do not appear on this list.
Bag Opener - Opens plastic bags so brat runners can put brats and hot dog in the bags easily for customers.
Keeps the lines moving (can be a sit down job, this is a great kids job). Must be at least14 years old.
Brat Gear - This is the place for Sales Man Sam! You’ll spend your time helping customers pick out the perfect
souvenir. Lots of folding and straightening.
Brat Grill Runner - Takes brats from the grills to be stored hot, while keeping the grillers full of raw brats to
cook. Must be at least 16 years old.
Brat Runner - Keeps feeding hot brats and hot dogs to the wrapping stations for wrapping. No minimum
physical fitness level required, only ability to carry hot pans full of good eats. Must be at least 14 years old.
Cashier - Greets customers, takes orders, accepts payments, and thanks customers for the their support. Must
be able to accurately and quickly add in their heads and handle money in a professional and secure manner.
During your shift you may be reassigned to a new task to accommodate our Celebrity Cashiers. Must be at
least 18 years old.
Cashier Runner - Listens for orders from customers, puts orders together from the warming table, and brings
them to the customer for pick up. This is a great job for the little ones. Must be at least 14 years old.
Cashier Supervisor - Trains all cashiers and runners on the expectations of their jobs. Places them at a selling
station, explains the different acceptable forms of payment. Must be at least 21 years old.

Condiment Stocker - Maintains clean and full condiment stations. Must be able to pick up condiment stations
move them to the refrigerated truck to fill ketchup, mustard and other containers. A challenging job, must be
willing to work and never stop. Must be at least 14 years old.
Condiment Supervisor - Trains Condiment stockers how to fill the condiment stations and maintain a clean
area around condiments. Makes sure volunteers stay on task and engaged during their shifts. Must be at least
21 years old.

Corn Cashier - Greets customers, takes orders, accepts payments and thanks customers for their support.
Able to accurately (and quickly) add totals in their heads and handle money in a professional and secure
manner. Must be at least 18 years old.
Corn Roaster - Loads corn into corn roasters, removes and prepares corn for customers. Must have fast hands
and sturdy legs that can stand for full shift. Must be at least 18 years old.
Corn Runner and Wrapper - Listens for orders from customers, puts them together and brings them to the
customers for pick-up and wrap as necessary. Must be at least 14 years old.
Event Staff - Walk in pairs of two with another event staff volunteer. Your jos is to be the eyes and ears of the
event. Watch the area you are assigned to for volunteers who are not working, customers without shirts or
wearing inappropriate clothing. Report any findings to Brat Fest Commander or Brat Man via provide radio.
You will also be provided with event maps to help attendees that may have questions on where to find certain
events or stages. Must be at least 18 years old.

Farmstand Supervisor - Trains all roasters and wrappers and fruit cup assemblers on each of the position
requirements. Watches over staff to make sure everyone is on task at all times. Must be at least 21 years old.

Gear Tent - This is the place for that Sales Man Sam! Suggestive selling, helping customer to pick out that
perfect gift or souvenir. This is a job that will keep you busy, there is always folding and straightening to be
done. Must be at least 18 years old.
Gear Tent Supervisor - Trains Gear volunteers on proper stocking and selling techniques. Makes sure
volunteers stay on task at all times and are engaging with customers. Must be at least 21 years old.

Golf Cart Driver - If you need a tan this is the job for you. Bring your sunscreen you will shuttle to and from the
parking lots. Great way to meet new friends. Sorry, all tips go to the Fest! Must be at least 18 years old.
Golf Car Supervisor - Trains all golf cart volunteers on the route they are driving. Makes sure they stay on
task and engaged with the customers. Must be at least 21 years old.

Griller - This is a “Hot Job”! If you enjoy a fast-paced job and love grilling – this is the place for you! It does get
very smoky, so contact lenses could be a problem here. You will spend your time putting brats on the grill and
turning them until they are cooked to perfection. You’ll definitely need to shower after this job! We have 20 - 6'
grills. **bring your sunscreen & hat, this job is in the sun. Must be at least 18 years old.
Grill Supervisor - Maintains grill area, makes sure all grill volunteers are on task at all times. Offers training on
how to grill. Delegates all responsibilities in the grill area; when to load up the grills when to slow down,
monitors trash in surrounding area and keeps the area clean. Must be at least 21 years old.

Snipper - Snippers cut apart the brats and dogs so they can be grilled.
Sparkle Patrol - Empties trash cans, cleans tables, retrieves water in 5 gallon buckets, and assists customers
as needed. Must be at least 14 years old.
Sparkle Supervisor - Supervises 5 Sparkle patrol volunteers in your area. You will have a designated area to
monitor all tables, trash and recycle bins. Make sure all volunteers stay on task at all times and are mindful of
the customer to make sure they are having an enjoyable experience. Offers training on how to maintain the
cleanliness of the area you supervise. Must be at least 21 years old.

Wrapper - No musical talent required. Some people will put brats and hot dogs in the buns, some will just wrap.
Must have very fast hands, and legs that can sustain one position for hours at a time. One person will act as a
bun runner and grab additional buns so wrappers can keep wrapping. We have 9 wrapping stations with up to 7
people at each. Must be at least 14 years old.
Wrapper Supervisor - Trains all wrappers and places them at a wrapping station. Is in charge of 3 wrapping
stations each containing 6 or 7 wrappers. Must be at least 21 years old.

Valet Driver - Assist with driving event goers and Brat Team duties on golf carts. Must be at least 18 years old.
Volunteer Check-In - Assists the volunteer coordinator by checking in other volunteers as they arrive. Helps
hand out t-shirts, name tags and job assignments. Fast pace, must be able to write legibly. Must be 18 or older.
Zero Waste Sorter - Assists Brat Fest in their Destination Zero Waste Initiative by helping event-goers know
into which containers to put their waste.
