DLT's mission is to provide quality
Duncan Little Theatre has begun the
annual Children's Theatre Experience. This year's show is "Winnie the
Pooh" featuring the classic characters, such as Tigger, Rabbit, Piglet
and, of course, Winnie the Pooh. The children will perform the show
at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 7 and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Oct. 8 at Hodgson's Studio
(814 W. Walnut in Duncan). The youth will also perform the show for
various elementary schools throughout Stephens County. Tickets are
$5 for children and $10 for adults. Come out to support the troupe of
young actors.
President's Note
DLT currently has three productions on the go. Talk about busy!!! I
hope to see you at all three. DLT has a wonderful group of volunteers
who work very hard to bring you these shows. A huge shout out to the
volunteers who responded to my call for help to move the B&B castle
set from the garage at the Stephens County Historical Museum to the
storage place generously donated by Duncan Builders. DLT Board
members besides me were Ladd Polk, Beth Ann Hough, and Nicole
Bowers. Other helpers were Eric Bradford who drove down from
Yukon to help, Dez Jones, Marcus McEntire, and Leann Polk. I
would also like to thank Cova Williams, Executive Director at the
Museum, for generously storing the set since March 2016 until now. It
took 9 trailer loads but the eight of us got the job accomplished.

"Someone Save My Baby Ruth"
A great time was had by all the volunteers who acted or crewed on "Someone
Save My Baby Ruth." DLT had over 200 people attend during the four show
run at the Marlow Opera House. Our celebrity dessert auction raised almost
$600 thanks to all our generous bidders. Gina Flesher, Lois Wilson, Paula
Huckabaa, Micah Harper, Mary Beth Mullica, Julie McKinney, Special Days
Cake Boutique, ??? were DLT's celebrity bakers. A
special thanks for their wonderful
creations. Beth Ann Hough did a
terrific job directing the
melodrama which encouraged the
audience to boo, hiss and cheer at
all the right moments.

renewing DLT membership and purchasing season passes will be set up in the lobby of the Simmons Center
Theater during"Dashing Through The Snow"
DLT is a founding member of OCTA and participates every second year in the
Oklahoma State OctaFest. DLT has won numerous awards over the years and
was named Theater of the Year in 2015 by this association.

Teen Theatre and all DLT shows are made possible thanks to the generous support
of the above listed grantors. DLT is very grateful for their continuing support.
Auditions were held for the DLT Christmas production under the
watchful eyes of director Michael Harris and his co-producers LD
Jones and Sharon Burum. Michael's daughter, Caitlyn Harris, will be
the stage manager for this comedy. DLT would like to thank all
those who auditioned for roles in this play. Without the talents and
time of this community's volunteer actors and actresses the
wonderful live theater events we all enjoy would not be possible.

Costume Shoppe Update
Halloween is just around the corner and DLT has some fantastic costumes available to
rent. Nicole Bowers, who did a great job as Costume Chair, has passed this volunteer
Board position onto Amy Baker. Nicole did a lot during her tenure as Costume Shoppe
Chair to enhance both the display and rental of costumes. Last fall, despite the chaos of
the Main Street facility's renovation, Nicole still managed to rent out several costumes
and thus raise funds to help support DLT programs. Thank you, Nicole, for all your
hard work. DLT is glad that you are still going to remain on the Board and help out in
other ways. Amy Baker has stepped forward as Head Costumer for the musical "Into
the Woods" and is already busy planning for this first production of the 2017 season of
shows. DLT would like to thank her for "stepping up to the plate". Amy did the
costumes for "The Miracle Worker" this past summer and won at Octafest in July for
Best Costumes. She has also agreed to become DLT's Costume Chair. Thanks, Amy!

Just a glimpse of the variety of costumes available for rent in the upcoming month. DLT also has Santa suits, elf
costumes, and Mrs. Claus outfits for Christmas parties. Sooner? Darth Vader? Flapper Girl? Mobster? Clown? French
Maid? Witch?--the list of possible costumes is endless. Rental fees are very reasonable and all money raised goes to
support DLT productions like Teen Theater and Children's Theater Experience. Just leave us a message at the Main
Street number and a Board member will call you to arrange a convenient time for you to come and try on costumes.
